1 Pet 3:18 For Christ also died for sins once for all, the just for the unjust, so that He might bring us to God, having been put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit; 1 Pet 3:19 in which also He went and made proclamation to the spirits now in prison, 1 Pet 3:20 who once were disobedient, when the patience of God kept waiting in the days of Noah, during the construction of the ark, in which a few, that is, eight persons, were brought safely through the water. 1 Pet 3:21 Corresponding to that, baptism now saves you--not the removal of dirt from the flesh, but an appeal to God for a good conscience--through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, 1 Pet 3:22 who is at the right hand of God, having gone into heaven, after angels and authorities and powers had been subjected to Him. 2 | Getting the verdict before the judgment? | Bible general Archive 1 | Mathew | 84193
Christ was made alive by the Spirit on the third day and not before. 1Peter Verses 19-22 are not talking about Christ going to hell and preaching. Its saying that his death and ressurection was for all. Even for those who died in disobedience during the time of Noah. The Bible is clearly stating that Gods grace will be for ALL MEN past, present ,and future. In no stretch of the imagination is it saying that he had to preach to those people in Noahs time for them to have grace. Before Christ died on the cross no one could be saved because they would be judged by the Law. Now we are still judged by the law thats written on our hearts, but we are under Christ grace and mercy now.Thats all those verses are saying.

I agree but this is probably the only verse in the Bible people try to use in that way. |
