I read the Bible in the NKJV and the NASB and during Bible study last evening we were in Matthew 20. In verse 16 the NASB left the last sentence "for many are called, but few chosen". My NKJV states that this verse was omitted in the NU-Text (Nestle-Aland Greek and United Bible Societies 4th edition). There are other verses that have also been omitted as well and I wonder who is Nestle-Aland or United Bible Society and should these verses be included? | ||||||

Omitted Bible Verses mare4christ, greetings. Various translations omit verses based on what they think is best. The question is ... was it in the original? We do not know. In the early church, the text was hand copied ... words may have been added, changed or removed. For me ... if there is a question, I ask if the text changes to meaning. Searcher |
