Having been on the losing side of the marijuanna debate I am now completely convinced that it is sin and I can now longer entain the thought of a positive defense I humbly bow in retreat. Thank you again all of you for the lively discussion. Check out this article which is a true debate on the issue and he is a true Christian his argument is against the use of marijaunna by Christians.. it was very persuading. I can no logically debate this topic with my pot smoking Christian friends. Thank you again all of you and please let's move on. We have taken up too much space on this already. One Toke Over the Line By Douglas Wilson http://www.christkirk.com/images/Marijuana.html "But suppose this is granted, but a further question is asked. What about the fellow who is not wiped out? He smokes marijuana but remains (at least in his own mind) fully functional. He grants that "drunkenness" is always wrong, but denies that marijuana has to produce "drunkenness." Why cannot cannabis provide an equivalent experience to wine gladdening the heart of man? We have to look at this argument carefully. We have seen that drunkenness is flatly prohibited by Scripture, but we have to recognize that other uses of alcohol are approved and encouraged throughout the Bible. In order to do this, we must back up. According to the Bible, alcohol has at least five lawful scriptural uses. Let's look at each, and see if there is a parallel to marijuana at that point. The last one we will consider is the "gladden the heart" argument." SEE ARTICLE FOR THE WHOLE DISCUSSION. |

I am glad that you liked Doug Wilson. He is the editor of a magazine entitled Credenda/Agenda. While it does hit a little too close to home at times, it definitely makes one think! You can access it online at http://www.credenda.org Thanks for taking the time to look at the "other side" on this debate! --Joe! |

I especially liked his ending. I will pray more on this, I don't want it to be an issue for me and to hinder my reaching out in love to my pot smoking Christian friends. I have isolated and cut them off like lepers when my love should be of the top most priority. I can't put myself away in a Christian comune I have to reach out to those who are in bondage and perishing for the lack of knowledge. "Christian liberty is given so that we might learn to be holy. "That he would grant unto us, that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies might serve him without fear, in holiness and righteousness before him, all the days of our life" (Luke 1:74-75). Those who desire holiness have to walk away from marijuana for good. " |
