Jeshuafreak: I was trying to be tender and not offend anyone. So I gave room for others to speak and give theie opinion. Kenneth Hagin has said quote: Man was created on terms of equality with God, and he could stand in God's presence without any consciousness of inferioity. end quote. Other Word-Faith teachers have said some other quotes I would like to share with you. Quote: Satan conquered Jesus on the cross. end quote, by Kenneth Copeland. Quote: You're not looking at Morris Cerullo--you'er looking at God. You'er looking at Jesus. end quote, by Morris Cerullo. quote: Never, ever, ever go to the Lord and say If it be thy will....Don't allow such faith-destroying words to be spoken from your mouth. end quote, by Benny Hinn. Quote: God has to be given permission to work in this earth realm on behalf of man.....Yes! You are in control! So, if man has control, who no longer has it? God. end quote, by Frederick K.C. Price. Quote: Not all Faith teachers subscribe to exactly the same beliefs on every point of doctrine, but they do hold on to an aberrant core of doctrine that rightly places them within the broad outlines of the Faith movement. end quote by, Hank Hanegraaff. CHRISTANITY IN CRISIS Harvest House Publishers 1993. pages 12-13. Again quoting Hanegraaff's book onpage 14. The Faith movement is every bit as cultic as the teachings of the Mormons, the Jehovah's Witness, and Christian Science. It is not worthy of a true Christian's support. ....the Faith movement does not represent biblical Christianity.....the Faith movement long ago departed from orthodox Christianity. and again Hanegraaff says on page 30 and I quote: There is no denying that much of Faith theology is dervived directly from metaphysics. Some of the sibstance, style, and scams endemic to the movement, however, can be traced to teachings and practices expressed primarily by certain post-World War ll faith healers and revivalists operating within Pentecostal circles. With regard to substance, for example, both Kenneth Cpoeland and Kenneth Hagin point to T,L, Osborn and William Branham as true men of God who greatly influenced their views and ministries. Of course, Osborn himself has consistently followed E.W. Keynyon's Scripture-twisting practices, and Branham has among other things, denounced the doctrine of the trinity as coming directly from the devil. Unfortunately, Hagen and Copland are not alone in affirming Branham; Faith proponent Benny Hinn gives him hearty approval as well.....In addition Hinn has given his endorsement to notorious revivalist A.A. Allen. a huckster if ever there was one. end of quotes from Hanegraaff. I was quite sure, in fact 100 percent sure, of what Pentecostals believe. Yes saying things you are not sure of can danage others reputation. I was trying not to offend anyone, so there could be some dialogue with tenderness of words. I agree that I should check my sources, and I am carefull to do so. I have quoted from Hank Hanegraaff who you can look up on www.Equip.org should you want to hear and read what these Faith leaders have said. I have quoted Hanegraaff's book and the words are not mine, they have been taken directly from their mouths. So if you believe in the trinity, I am glad. I think I have proven by the Faith movenents leaders quotes they do not. I sincerely present this in a humble way. agape, justme |

I completely agree with you about these word-faith teachers. They are heritics and false teachers. I was just saying not to broadbrush all Pentacostals/Charismatics with them. The Church universal (all believers in Christ/the bride of Christ ) is made up of imperfect fleshly individuals we are going to find extremes in all denominational camps, unfortunantely. The best thing to do is to find a healthy well balanced church home that preaces the word and faithfully administers the sacrements. We do not however have to listen to the false teachers or let them into our church or home via television. The best thing we can do is "become so familiar with the truth that when a counterfeit loomes on the horizon we wil know it simultaneously."-Hank Hanegraff's quote I suggest getting into the word of God.Don't worry bout the tares around you and be concerned with yourself, are you wheat or chaff. The tares will grow along with the wheat till Christ comes for His bride. The only one we can really be sure of is ourselves. Are we in a right relationship with God? Do we personally know His Son Jesus Christ? Are we talking to Him everyday? Are we reading His Word. Are we meditating on His Word? Are we letting it dwell richly in us? Is it changing us? We are constantly being renewed daily. Daily being conformed to the image of His Son Jesus. From glory to glory. There are some questionable individuals in my church home and at one time I was a little questionable myself. God is the Author and Finisher of my faith. Amen for that. I tried too long to do it on my own and didn't change anything. I only succeded in becoming legalistic and religious. Religiosity doesn't change people it pushes them away. Romans 8:29-31 says: 29For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. 30And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified. 31What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us? |

Jeshuafreak: What a pleasent suprise by your response, I am thrilled. I was unsure exactly what your position was in you first note. My guiding spiritual principle for the forum is Galatians 5:6 the last part of the verse says "The only that counts is faith expressing utself through love," I perfer to leave openess in my notes, that perhaps others can join into and complete the dialogue so we all can grow. If I do not know for sure of the response I give is accurate, I will respond with a question. I believe if I give out all I know then that is just an answer. Often I do give the complete answer which is the right way to respond. However, when I feel the Holy Spirit nudging me, I at times will not completly and fully give a total answer. This I beleive allows to open other's spiritual minds, and Bibles, and add to the answer. This allows more people to participate. More often than not, I learn more my self. I am not an authority, or the final answer on this forum, by a very, very, very, long shot. I am just one of many, I am "justme" thus my name. As I sit now, at my desk, there are twelve reference books I use quite regulary. I am blessed with a large library that my wife and I have both invested not only our money but many years in in formal education and study. My primary studies were in Bible, Psychology, Missionology, Pastorial Care, and Pastoral Theology. My wife got the same degrees but in different areas. I am indeed blessed. I have had some major blessings, that God allowed to happen to me. My health is a constant battle. and we depend on the Lords watch care every day. Besides physical problems which includes Cognitive slippage. I am so blessed, my wife and children, and grandchildren a rich reward! My wife is my litteral help mate. I have said all this to say My wife and I walk by faith as most growing Christian do, or come to do. I sincerly welcome you to the Forum. Take a moment to fill out the Update User Info. It is nice to know a little about who we talk with. There are some real jewels of Jesus in this forum. Some more polished and sparkley, and others like me, we look like sandstone, but the Master is chipping away to show how we fit, in His crown. I an encouraged with your attitude. God Bless you. agape, justme |

Justme and Jeshuafreak How did we get from Pentecostal/Charismatic to Word of Faith. Comparing Word of Faith to an authentic Pentecostal/Charismatic church is like comparing light to darkness. Yes most Word of Faith are Pentecostal but there the similarities end. Authentic Pentecostals believe in a sovereign God. A God that is to be worshipped. Word of Faith believe in a god that responds to their beck and call according to a “faith” formula they have developed. They have a god that they order around. Don’t confuse this issue by bringing in the false teachings of Word of Faith. EdB |
