Read the 5 great "I will's" of Satan in Isaiah 14:12-14. V's 15-19, tell us of his fate for placing his pride above that of the Father. Satan knew, and continues to know, that he is a defeated foe. God bless...believer57

Hi Believer, The passages you mention only state why Satan was cast out of Heaven and where he is going but they have nothing to do, in my view, with Satan knowing or not knowing God's plan of Salvation. Our Lord's Blessings Barry |

Barry, I fully believe that Satan knows that he is a defeated foe! Remember Matt. 8:29, when the "devils" asked Jesus, "..art thou come hither to torment us before THE TIME?". They, as Satan does, know that The Son was sent to save us. God's plan of salvation was presented first in the OT, (passage from Egypt, the Passover, the Tabernacle, Daniel's friends in the furnace, Daniel in the lion's den, story of Joseph ). Further, as you well know, Satan knows the Scriptures backwards and forwards. He knows that God will not allow his people to perish in eternal hell, if they will choose Him. Satan knows that God wants to save us, and that is why he does everything in his "limited" power to condemn us. The "I wills" of Satan demonstrate his plan to ruin our salvation. Remember when Satan said, in his heart, "I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north"? Satan is warning us that he will be sitting next to the churches, and the saints! Why? To take from the flock. He knows that Christ is our Shepherd, and he will do anything he can to take us from Him! He knows God's plan. He knows he is defeated! When Christ arose, he trembled with fear! I believe that when our precious Lamb was on the cross, that Satan, in his own self-deception, thought he had won. But, He is arisen! And that old serpent the Devil, is defeated! I love the story of the man in the tombs. Satan, big and bad, so he thinks, begging Christ not to torment him! Yes sir, he knows...Holler back, if I can help... God Bless....believer57

Hi believer, I agree with most of what you're saying here. "I believe that when our precious Lamb was on the cross, that Satan, in his own self-deception, thought he had won" Isn't the biggest part of the "plan of salvation", our Lord rising from the Grave? Because it has been said, if Jesus didn't rise, then our faith is in vain. 1Cor 15: 14,17 I also believe Satan thoght he "had" Jesus but only because of certain things he did not know,(that Jesus would rise from the grave) not from some "self deception". I simply cannot bring myself to believe that Satan knew, before he was cast out of Heaven what was going to happen, God only knows how many millenia later, unless God himself told him and I just don't see that in these passages. The word of God is alive so maybe one day while reading these passages, the Lord will show me this is how it is but at this time I don't see it. But it really doesn't matter because he has been defeated and will spend eternity in the Lake of Fire and we will live with the Lord forever. Hallelujah!!! Barry |
