Joe, that's a good start and thank you for your prompt answer. Specifically, the pastor of the church I am attending has made the statement in sermons that 'the church is not God's police' and therefore should not be concerned with the open conduct of other church members. I always believed it was the church's responsibility to get these people back into the 'fold of God'. | ||||||

Wonderer, if my pastor made statements that you accord to yours, I'd confront him with the Scriptures that Steve and Joe have cited and ask him to explain to me just who he thinks the "police" are. When a pastor takes on the role of shepherd to his flock, he is the "chief of police" -- not the judge of who the police are. That judgment has already been made, and God made it. --Hank | ||||||
