1 | Is it faith or is it mornal? | Bible general Archive 1 | carats5 | 21830 | ||
I have been a christian for a few years now. It seems the more I study the bible the more question I have. Is it because I don't have enough faith? Or is it I don't study the bible enough. Here are some of my questions: 1. Do all the christians look forward to the second coming of Christ? If they do, that means the whole world would suffer according to the bible. 2. Do all the christians live for the time of rapture? 3. I think it is kind of sad if a christian suddenly disappear to go to meet Christ and leave his/her love ones. Would he/she been sad? 4. What do we do when we are in heaven? If there is no sickness nore saddness, would we know it is good? Would we be bored? 5. Once a christian goes to heaven, does he/she still possess human charateristics? 6. If a christian is bored while he/she in heaven, would he/she be temped by Satan again, like Eve got tempted by the snake? |

Response................................ Greetings Carats5! I am a little short on time, but allow me to take a quick stab at your questions. 1) "Do all the christians look forward to the second coming of Christ? If they do, that means the whole world would suffer according to the bible." I would say most do! Like God, I don't want anyone to be lost, but it is a fact that some will be. 2 Pet. 3:9 makes it clear that God is holding back the end time events as long as possible so that as many will respond can respond. Those that don't will be lost! Am I glad that they will be lost? No! But, I can't force them to come to Christ. 2) "Do all the christians live for the time of rapture?" No! I try to live for Christ everyday, not just for the rapture! When it comes, I will be glad to be with Christ, but until then, I just try to serve Him the best that I can. 3) "I think it is kind of sad if a christian suddenly disappear to go to meet Christ and leave his/her love ones. Would he/she been sad?" No! Scripture is clear that there will no more sorrow or grief. The utter joy of being in Christ's presence will eliminate any of that! 4) "What do we do when we are in heaven? If there is no sickness nore saddness, would we know it is good? Would we be bored?" I don't know what heaven will be like exactly, but we do know quite a bit about what the New Heaven and New Earth will be like from Scripure. My understanding is that it will be a lot like the Garden of Eden, but without sin. We will have plenty to do to keep from getting bored! 5) "Once a christian goes to heaven, does he/she still possess human charateristics?" In heaven, we will not be physical. But, Scripture says that in the New Heaven and New Earth our spirits and bodies will be reunited. So, again, I would say that we would be like Adam and Eve, but without sin. 6) "If a christian is bored while he/she in heaven, would he/she be temped by Satan again, like Eve got tempted by the snake?" Again, Scripture says that there will be no sin. Satan will be in the lake of fire! So, I would say that there will be no more possiblity of sin. I hope this helps! If you want more detailed discussion, you might try dealing with one question at a time. Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
