In our newspaper yesterday they asked the question: "Where were you God (during Tuesday's tragedy)". I am curious to see how my fellow forumers would answer this question. prayon

Prayon I like Jim's response, God was there! God's prespective of death is different than ours look at Job's children. We always talk about Job but what about his children they lost their lives in that encounter. I don't understand all I know on this subject but of this I'm sure. Romans 8:28 "And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose." I also know that God is just, but His ways are not man's ways. Let His Name be glorified. |

Where was God? I submit this for your consideration. Our concept of God is that God gave us the ability to do good and evil. when we choose to do good, God celebrates with us. When we choose to do evil, God cries with us. God gives us choices and gives us the ability to make those choices. But the choice is ours. When we look for blame, the blame is with us, not God. From the Jewish perspective, the question is always asked, "Where was God at Auschwitz?" The Jewish answer is "God was there. The real question is where was Man at Auschwitz?"

Man at Auschwitz, Susan, as well on the East Coast, made a choice to do evil, tho some belived they were doing good. Someone told them Killing the imperfect people at Auschwitz was right. The terrorists believed they were going to heaven right away for their actions. Have we failed to present the Gospel to all men? Did we miss these people? Steve |

Where I am headed is where man was before this happened? God was there at the World Trade Center. He was at the Pentagon. He was with them at the plane crash in Pennsylvania. He was with those who got detained and didn't make it to work. He was there with those who didn't make it out who needed comfort. Man, however, was not concerned with what he needed to be concerned with - living Godly and praying for our land. Man was concerned with self. If America would of been on her knees praying for our country I doubt that the events on Sept. 11 would of happened. We can not expect God to be there if He is not asked. He is a loving and compassionate God but He is not a pushy God.
