1 | Will believers see great tribulation? | Bible general Archive 1 | CDBJ | 14741
This is true, but things are going to get so bad that believers are going to be longing for the day of the Lord and they won't see it. Why do you think Christ said "Will I find faith when I come?" Believers are so sure that the won't go through any tribulattion, that when it comes there faith is going to be shattered!! Many times in scripture when it is talking about end time events, God has warned us not to let anyone deceive us. If we are removed before all this happens, why would He give us the warnings to watch out for deceivers?

3 | Will it be our generation? | Bible general Archive 1 | CDBJ | 14776
Are you ready for Matt.24:15 The abomination of desolation. Hitler was easy compaired to how this guy is going to treat the elect. This isn't God's wrath that believers will be going through, but Satan's, that why we will be longing for Christ return. Tell me how believers are longing for Christ return while riding around on waterskis on a nice 80 degree day after enjoying a nice lunch fixed on a shore fire. Or maybe it will be the one who just saw his best friend get his head cut off because he was telling a lost neighbor about Christ and even then it was on an empty stomach because he couldn't buy food to eat with out a certain mark! That's how it's going to be different. People sure arn't getting this message today and as a result when it happens believers won't be ready. They that endure till the end shall be delivered by the rapture not before. In fact it is going to be so bad that the Lord will shorten those day for the elects sake. Knowing what to look will make it a lot easier.

Dear CDBJ, No, none of us will be truly ready in our own strength. But in Him we can do anything! The Spirit will give us what we need at the appropriate time. I don't think that dwelling on end-time prophecy will help much, but honestly looking at church history and the present-day reality is a start. Read "The New Foxe's Book of Martyrs' for a bit of (grisly) history of faith in persecution. This updated version is in readable language and has a section on more recent trials of the faithful all over the world. Indeed, those in 'major power' nations have a hard time understanding what it takes to profess Christ for a good portion of the 'rest of the world.' Preparation for serving Jesus starts 1)in our own home, establishing our ability to show forth the Christ within to those close to us. The next battle is 2)serving our local church. (and I don't mean Sunday attendance or the envelope on the offering plate! Wash someone else's dishes, change the diapers of other's children, bless the person in the next row in the name of Jesus!) When we (finally) get these two down pat, then 3)bring food to the bowery, help at the nursing home, volunteer for prison ministry, give your vacation to a foreign church (out of your own pocket!), and heed the calling of the Holy Spirit if He calls you to a less-comfortable venue. When you have performed 1 and 2, and are working on 3 for a while, you will be ready for any number 4 that Jesus gives you! Blessings in Jesus' name, charis |

Well it seems that the Lord has a different idea, that's why there is more on the end time events in the Bible then any other doctrin. Every thing you mentioned is very commendable but the subject wasn't on Christian service. Keep up the good work it sounds like a motivation of love. I read the FOXE'S BOOK OF MARTYRS about 30 years ago that edition was enough for me. Have you ever read a book called, THE SIGN by Robert VanKampen, it is a real eye opener? CDBJ

CDBJ- This isn't going to help you much, and I do know that if anyone can give you a date of Christ's return, they are not readers of the bible. I heard (or read) that Christians in other countries that are being persecuted for their faith, believe that they are in the beginning of the tribulation time. We who are in the "free" nations do not even have a clue. Yet the signs are everywhere that things are winding down faster and faster. How much longer will they go? How much longer will our Lord have patience until He says "Enough is Enough!" All the wondering and debate is not going to change a thing. He will start things when He sees fit. We just have to be ready. It doesn't matter who is right or wrong about the time, what matters is that He will be true to His word and will give us strength. When it happens, we will know, and not all the "I was right" or "I was wrong" is going to make a pinch of difference. But it is fasciniating speculating, isn't it? Peace in Christ- Debbie |

Debbie you right when you say no one can give a date, because it is not known exactly when Christ will return. But there are signs to distingush certain things that have to happen before He can return, thus eliminating a term that is called imminency. I haven't talked to a handfull of Christians that know, that on the very day that Christ rescues the believers from the earth, that God will begin to pour out His wrath on those that are left behind. There is even a book out that goes by that title, so that unbelievers if they read it, might think they have a second chance when all the believers seem to vanish away. They will have as much chance as those that were left after the ark was shut. God's wrath came that very same day in the form of rain. God's wrath came the very day that Lot left Sodom. He almost got his shirt tail burnt on the way out, but God delivered him just before the fire came down. These will be tempting times that will try the faith of many believers. Look at what II Pet.2:9 has to say. Then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from temptation, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment for the day of judgement, There are many who think that the rapture will be a secret thing. The most glorius event in history will be taking place that shows the World who Christ is, and they say it will be a secret event, I don't think so!! Rev.1:7 every eye will see Him.
