1 | When, what and who are included? | Rev 7:14 | BMyers | 224244
The answer is yes, maybe, and no. The timing of the tribulation is what is at debate. If you are a pre-tribulation thought, then only unsaved go through the tribulation, if you are mid-tribulation, then Christians go through half of the tribulation before the rapture occurs and if you are a post-tribulation, then as you guessed, you go through the whole tribulation. I am of the belief of the pre-tribulation. Here is a link www.gotquestions.org/tribulation.html that explains it a little more. Now with that being said, there are others who disagree and can provide support for the belief of mid- or post-tribulation. The key thing is to be ready for the coming of our Lord and Savior regardless of when the tribulation comes. Brad |

4 | When, what and who are included? | Rev 7:14 | CDBJ | 224256
Greetings, I know that verse and it’s that very verse that stimulated my question to you in the first place. I ask again, what is the believer in Christ holding to the pretribulation point of view supposed to do if the rapture takes place before the tribulation. Aside from believing in Jesus what is it that one needs to be doing to be ready, or putting it another way; what would you suggest aside from total trust in the saving work of Christ? Then on the other hand “if” the rapture doesn’t take place before the tribulation what is it that Christians need to prepare for? Luke 18:1-8 And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint; 2Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man: 3And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary. 4And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man; 5Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me. 6And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith. 7And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them? 8I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth? 2 Thes. 2:3-9 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 4Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. 5Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things? 6And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time. 7For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. 8And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: 9Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, Could it be that we are being deceived and many won’t be ready for that which is going to take place on earth “before” Christ returns? Matthew 24:48 But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; Scripture never suggest that the Lord’s return will come sooner then expected, it’s always later, suggesting that the faith of many will be shattered. 1 Thes. 5:9 For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, The “tribulation period”is the wrath of Satan’s man during his final days. The wrath of God doesn’t take place until “after” believers are delivered from these most horrible days. CDBJ |

5 | When, what and who are included? | Rev 7:14 | BMyers | 224262
"Aside from believing in Jesus what is it that one needs to be doing to be ready" Well, we are called to take the Gospel to all the ends of the earth, to pray, to continue to grow in the knowledge of the Word to name a few. I can quote the scripture for them if you need me to. Yet as you pointed out the most important part is ones salvation. Scripture indicates that no one but the Father knows when Christ will return, so we must be ready at all times. Brad |

BMyers: Perhaps we mignt reconsider a few points, easly overlooked. All understandings of Scripture, and the views about the return of Christ are really how one understandes endtime Scriptures. No one knows when Jesus will return, only the Father. I suggest that there is a danger in totally accepting any of these theories. If as some say we will not go into the tribulation, and it just so happens we do? I believe this would wreck the faith of those who were so adomint this would never happen. Just what if we had to endure great tribulation? Would not those who thought we have to go into the tribulation be better prepared. For years I have studied the many view points of the return of Christ. Frankly all of the views hold some valid points, and I clearly see how they interpret Scripture for the view point they hold. I have come to rely on Matthew 24. I use the Words of Jesus Himself as my starting place in understanding the end times. I take the waite and see view. I personally am prepared for Christ to return right now. Yet I am also ready to suffer for the sake of Christ. If I must endure the tribulation, no matter if we are taken out in the middle or at the end. That seems to me the better understanding of Matthew 24. Are there Christians right now enduring tribulation? Yes, Christings are in serious tribulation in Iraq, just to name one place. Christians are not allowed to work, buy food,, live in certian neighborhoods, and even pray, or mention Jesus. China is rough place for Christians now as well. Over and over Jesus said that with different calamaties, earthquakes, war, no food, many times the time was not "yet". All the different views of Christ and his return are in my opinion not an open and closed deal. Being ready just might mean to be prepared to suffer, or die for your faith. I ask are most Christians ready to suffer sever pain and suffering without denying their faith in Christ? Would most of us be willing to be burned at the stake? Could we endure watching our children tortured until we say we reject Christ? Could we watch our wife and daughters raped until we rejected Christ? This might well represent what being ready means. Now are we really ready? I believe we need to think and pray for strength to endure being ready. I hope my understanding is taken very seriously. The things I mentioned above are happening today in this world. Ae we really ready, frankly I doubt most Christians have given this serious thought and are not prepared. I hope pre-tribulation is the correct view. I am afraid we as lazy un-read Biblical Christians we are not ready at all. Blessings Brad. justme |

7 | When, what and who are included? | Rev 7:14 | BMyers | 224272
Hi justme, Please understand, that I'm not trying to persuade anyone that pre-trib is the right choice. I just tried to point out in the original question that it wasn't a simple answer because as you have and I have tried, but done poorly at to point out there are more than one view without any clear answer. I guess I shouldn’t have mentioned that I believed in pre-trib (reminds me of a comic I once say with a line of doors and they each had a different title over them, pre-pre-trib, pre-trib, mid-trib, mid-mid-trib, post-trib, post-post-trib, etc., but they all opened to the same place, heaven). Tribulation is present in a fallen world. Some suffer greater than others. I feel very fortunate that I have not had to suffer as some in other parts of the world. The clear answer as you have pointed out and I have tried, we have to be ready whenever and for whatever. I have come across to many Christians who quickly become discouraged because life doesn’t instantly turn into a story-book with them getting everything they want and having no problems. Jesus didn’t promise a life free of struggles and problems, but He did promise the peace to overcome them. Joh 16:33 I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world." Brad |
