1 | are we free? | Rev 3:16 | kevinmal | 7802
Just opened my Bible at Galatians 5 and the heading is keep your freedom. It made me think are we really free here in the western world or is it we more like we like to think we are. It says that Christ made us free, I am really going for it with God and have found that there is a lot of opposition from those that said they wanted me to express how i feel about the vision that God laid on my heart. Why is it that people want to know what is precious to you and then turn round and try to destroy that vision. Is it that we are more concerned about controlling than we are about encouraging each other. I have found that as I have met other Chrisitian each Sunday as I look for a new place to worship. They are kind and loving, I just wonder if it will be the same if I settle in one place. Are we so afraid of what God is doing in each individual? I am so thankful that God loves us all. Thismorning just think about it. He loves you and me so much. That thought will carry me through every single day of my life. What a privilage it is to be part of His Kingdom and to be able to speak freely and openly about how I feel about His love and compassion. And how wonderful it is to feel the wonderful effect of His GRACE. Your Friend IN CHRIST Kevin |

2 | are we free? | Rev 3:16 | lionheart | 140487
Kevin my brother in Christ the law of the land or societies standards have little to do with our freedom. It's the Christ in you (Col1:27) that makes you truly free. It's an inside job. You got your freedom when you made Jesus Christ Lord and Savior. Read Romans 8. Our strength and confidence come from God. My brother pray every day and strive to make Gods Word your own .(2Tim2:15) Stay strong my brother. Yours in Christ lionheart |

How has any man ever "made Jesus Christ Lord and Savior?" I do not find any scripture to suggest that humans have the power to make Jesus anything at all. He *is* Lord (Act 10:36; Heb 1:8ff) and He *is* Savior (1 Tim 4:10, Act 5:31). No man can declare Christ Lord outside of the power of the Holy Spirt (1 Cor 12:3). These things are not matters of the will of man, but they are entirely matters of the will of God (John 1:13, Eph 1:11)! Please let me know if you can find scripture to the contrary. In Him, Doc |

Sorry DOC I really stuck my foot in my mouth on this one. We did make a conscious decision when confronted with our need for Jesus. It's not about I do but what God has already done. But there are steps we had to take.Acts 2:36-38,4:12. Ro 10:9,10. Thanx for calling me to task. I gotta learn to communicate more clearly and use my words more wisely. I appreciate you doc,you carry a lot Godly wisdom. Something we all need in huge amounts. Yours inChrist Lionheart. |

Hi, Lionheart! Sometimes it might sound like quibbling... but I was hoping you meant something different than what you were actually saying! :-) Nowadays there is so much false doctrine out there... or just plain ignorance... it is incumbant upon us to state things carefully. By the way, be sure to jump on my case (which won't be the first time for me on this forum or outside of it) if I mistate something! :-) Thank you also for your gracious spirit! In Him, Doc |
