1 | Are pastors angels? | Rev 2:1 | Searcher56 | 178357
God'smorning to you, Bereaniam, Yes, the bishop/overseer is the pastoror leader of the church. The verses cited can be interpeted either way - it is hard to know if the Holy Spirit was writing this to a group of churches. It isamonor issue and you can choose the place you want to go. S
2 | Are pastors angels? | Rev 2:1 | Bereaniam | 178366
Searcher56, I am sorry...but I do not understand your line of reasoning here. Titus 1:5-7 clearly shows that an elder is an bishop. Eph 4:11 clearly shows that a pastor is a gift to the Church. So, if a bishop/overseer and pastor are the same...that would also mean that the bishop is also a gift from God to the Church. Is that what you are saying? I also do not understand what you mean by "it is hard to know if the Holy Spirit was writing to a group of churches"...what difference would that make? Also what do you mean by "it is a minor issue". Is it a minor issue how God's Church is structured? Should the elders have the rule(lead) or the pastor? His, Bereaniam |

3 | Are pastors angels? | Rev 2:1 | Searcher56 | 178385
- I believe pastor and overseer are the same position ... and requires a spiritual gift - when the plural is used we don't know if it is to a group in one church or to a single person inmany churches - it is a minor issue, since each group can use the Bible to prove their side. The major issues are Wo is God, Christ, the Holy Spirit, the Bible, man, sin, salvation, judgment ... I chose not yo discuss church government with you any more |
