1 | Millions led by Satan equal Goat Nations | Rev 20:8 | Lastday | 99209
One of our number wonders where so great a number comes from who are deceived by Satan when the 1000 years are finished. Rev.20:8. It is true that God will destroy all the wicked sinners on the Day of the Lord. These wicked ones "refuse to repent" during the trumpet and plague judgments. They include the 200 million soldiers who come from the East and kill a third of mankind just before entering the Holy Land to "make war against the Lamb." Rev.9:15, 17:14. If they kill 2 billion people over a "quarter" of the earth's surface (Seal 4), that means up to 800 million Muslims (descendants of Ishmael's 12 tribes) suddenly bow down as Christ comes with all the Saints. (This is not to mention the rest of the 4 billion people who survive the Holocaust of the 6th Trumpet.) What happens to the 800 million Muslems if they "beg to escape all these things and to stand before the Son of Man"? Luke 21:36. This verse cannot apply to believers because they will all be overcomers and fully prepared for Christ's coming. I believe those Jesus urges to beg to escape all that happens on the sun-darkened day He appears applies primarily to Jews when they "mourn" and the entire remnant of one third who survive will be saved, but not "gathered together above." Zech.12:10, Zech.13:8,9, Joel 2:32, Matt.24:30, Rev.1:7, Rom.11:26, Heb.8:8-13. Now, I realize the Jewish remnant and the 800 million Muslims are left behind during the Hour of Trial from which all Believers will be kept through the Rapture. Jesus offers hope of being preserved (Lk.17:33) to "all who are willing to die." They will be "kept alive" (same word used of Moses kept alive in the Nile River basket). Now consider the setting pictured by Jesus wherever there are "Twosomes. One will be taken and one left." Both are unbelievers since no Believer will suffer judgment or be left behind. The two working by "day" are on the opposite side of the earth to those who are in bed at "night." So this is a global picture of millions wherein half of the 4 billion who survive could cry out for mercy. The destruction coming "as it was in the days of Noah" need not apply to the millions being left behind! God will "preserve" every one who is not "fed to the birds." Luke 17:37, Matt.24:28, Rev.19:17-21. Now for the great masses who exist at the end of the 1000 years. They are divided between "sheep and goat" nations which form as a result of the Jews being at the head of the nations, of the stipulated necessity for all "those left behind" (Zech.14:16; Rev.15:4) to come annually to Jerusalem to worship the Lord and to fulfill the New Covenant embraced by Israel (Heb.8:8-13). By this the "knowledge of the Lord will so cover the earth so that all will know the Lord." Now what is the purpose for the New Earth at the end of the Millennium? Jesus will separate the sheep nations from the goats and cast the latter into Hell. The sheep nations will "inherit the kingdom forever" (to fulfill the eternal kingdom promised to the natural descendants of Abraham and to fulfill the Davidic Covenant) Matt.25:34. God will have an "earthly people" living on the New Earth (only the Bride inhabits the New Jerusalem) who will "bring their honor and glory into the New Jerusalem" during the eternal state. Their "healing" will be maintained by the same leaves of the Tree of Life after they come into the New City as that required during the Millennium itself. Ezek.47:12, Rev.21:24-26, Rev.22:2. Where else could enough mortals be found to produce as many as the "sands of the sea" for the final battle of Gog and Magog when the 1000 years are finished? By the way, the 1000 years cannot begin until "all the martyrs come out from the Great Tribulation" and learn that they alone will "serve God day and night as pillars in the Temple of heaven for 1000 years." So the 1000 years are not finished until they enjoy the identical blessings of the New Jerusalem for 1000 years in advance of that enjoyed by all the Bride through eternity. Rev.3:10, Rev.7:15-17; Rev.20:4,5, Rev.21:4. Friends, the Martyrs win the highest reward available to the Church. Jesus promises they will receive the name of God, the name of the New Jerusalem that later comes down out of heaven and "My new name." What an incentive for Believers to "love not their life unto death" and especially for the "few (some) who must taste death" for up to three final days while the Two Prophets lie dead ... waiting for the last martyr to be killed before "God judges and avenges their blood." My fellow Bible student you are reading things into the Scriptures that are not there by taking prophetic language and reading it literally. The book of Revelation is a book that tells of the coming destruction of Jerusalem in 70CE. When you read the first chater you find that it is (1)a Revelation (1:1); (2) to the seven churches of Asia (1:11); (3) in signs (He sent and sign-i-fied it) (1:1); (4) of things that must shortly come to pass (1:1; cf. 1:3; 22:6,10). The 1000 year reign of Christ. The text says, "they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years." The pronoun "we" is a personal pronoun of the first person, but "they" is a is a personal pronoun of the third person; the verbs "lived" and "reigned" are verbs of the past tense, but "shall live and reign" are verbs of future tense. No person can claim the right to change the sentence of the text from the third personal pronoun "they" to the first personal pronoun "we," nor to chage the verbs "lived" and "reigned" of the past tense to "shall live and reign" of the future tense. That is too much change for any man to make who has an ounce of respect for the word of God. In his vision John "saw thrones" and the ones that "sat on them." And those whom he "saw" were the "souls" of the "beheaded." They had not "worshipped" the beast. They had not "received" the mark, and they "lived" and "reigned" with Christ. First: "They lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years." It does not mention the second coming of Christ, a bodily resurrection, a reign on earth, or a literal throne in Jerusalem or elsewhere. It does not mention us, and it does not mention Christ on earth. Revelaton 20 mentions none of these things, and a curse was pronounced on the one who add to the words of this book (revelation 22:18). Second: "They" lived and reigned with Christ. It says "they"-the souls of the martyrs who were beheaded. Only those who were beheaded entered the 1000 yrs. If the 1000 yrs is literal then the behading is literal, and only those literally beheaded entered into that millennium. If the beheading is figurative, the 1000 yrs. is figurative, and that cuts us out; for there could be no literal millennium. If a literal 1000 yrs, then a literal behading; if a figurative beheading, then a figurative 1000 yrs, and either way there is no millennium for us. Third: They "lived" and "reigned." If the term "reigned" is limited by a thousand years, the verb "lived"is also limited by those thosand years. If the reigning ends with the thousand years, the living ends with a thousand years, and the millennium will end with everybody in it ceasing to live. That would be quite a hopeless millennium. There is no millennium. |

Greetings Alanh! Tenses in Greek are not quite as cut and dried as you present in your post. Prophetic events can be spoken of in the past tense. Future events can be spoken of in the present tense. Context is the best indicator. The Aorist tense is generally a past tense, but the time of the action is not the most important feature of the tense. There are several well recongnized uses of the Aorist tense. 1) The Gnomic Aorist is an event or occurance regarded as so certain that it is spoken of as already completed. Examples Jn. 15:8, Lk, 7:35, and 1 Pet. 1:24 (Dana and Mantey) 2) The Epistolary Aorist is where a writer would place himself at the viewpoint of his reader and use the aorist indicate to describe an event which was present or even future to him. Examples Phs. 2:28, Acts 23:30, and Col. 4:8. So, it cannot be argued simply that things in the aorist tense must have already happened. Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |

The point is if the beheading is figurative then the 1000 years is figurative and if the 1000 years is literal then the behheaded souls on the throne is literal. Think about it. You cannot have part of this passage literal and part of it figurative. Also, If the reigning ends with the thousand years, the living ends with a thousand years, that is not a millennium I would look forward to. I prefer the idea of eternal life espoused in the Scriptures (Mat 19:29; Joh 3:15-16; Heb 5:9; 9:15; 1Jo 2:25; 5:13; Jud 21).

Greetings Alanah! Yet, Scripture does not limit the thousand years to only those beheaded. It only limits the resurrection at the beginning of the 1000 years to those who were beheaded. As I pointed out, there is other Scripture to indicate that the rest of the believers were resurrected prior to this time and come back with Christ. Secondly, I also pointed out that the 1,000 years is grammatically connected to 'reigning' not living. So, it is not true that the 'living' ends with the thousand years. The Greek is quite clear on this point. Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
