1 | Glorious church? | Rev 1:11 | strts5 | 206114
Ephesians 3:7-11 ...to preach to the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ, 9and to make plain to everyone the administration of this mystery, which for ages past was kept hidden in God, who created all things. 10His intent was that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms, 11according to his eternal purpose which he accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord. I was raised Pentacostal and remember the pastor talking about end times, and the enemy and to always be carefull or else... (use your imagination). I've also heard many preachers teaching doomsday and be on watch, because these other churches, etc... Are we really members of a weak, just barelly making it by church, or are we a glorious church known throught heaven that the enemy fears? Maybe I'm just on a tangent here. I visited a church last night, great worship, I always feel so buisy doing stuff at my church I can't just stop and enjoy. The sermon though, for some reason just jumped out at me like fingernails on a chalkboard. He was talking about how things are about to get get real difficult for the church and how many are going to fall away if we don't pray and do this and that, etc. I know there is truth to this in one aspect but also didn't Paul say , " many would fall away, if it were possible"? I don't know, but I am starting to feal we are much more united than many percieve, much more powerfull and glorious. Anyway, maybe I'm missing something, I would like to hear others thoughts on this. Are we weak and misserable or is it what God sais? In love, Mike |

No, No, No we are not weak and miserable. Read the end of the book. Revelation 21 and 22. Rev 21:4 and He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away." Rev 21:5 And He who sits on the throne said, "Behold, I am making all things new." And He *said, "Write, for these words are faithful and true." Rev 21:6 Then He said to me, "It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give to the one who thirsts from the spring of the water of life without cost. Rev 22:14 Blessed are those who wash their robes, so that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter by the gates into the city. Seek Christ and In Him you will find strength. It is only doomsday to those who are not In Him. Blessings, Val |

Thank you and I agree. I think my point was all to often I feel like christians both from the pew and the pulpit describe the church like a third world country raveged by plague and starvation. I am starting to think we need to start seeing the church here and now as the beautiful bride of Christ that it is. Stop attempting to treat the field of wheat like its all tares. I'm kind of on a rant, a little frustrated. In love, Mike |

I understand completely. We get our hope from Christ so its best to keep looking to Him rather than around at other people. People are people no matter where they are. Some are negative and some are not so negative. Personally I like the not so negative. Blessings, Val
