2 | what about the mark of the beast??? | Rev 13:16 | Listener | 36090
Good question. Concerning the location (hand or forehead): The mark will be considered mandantory - no exceptions. Those who do not have a right hand may be compelled to take the mark on their forehead. Everyone has a forehead (at least everyone that I know). No one really knows what form the mark will take, but it will clearly represent allegiance to the antichrist. I don't know that it really matters what form it takes, but I think the following ideas are clearly tought: 1) It is considered mandantory. 2) It clearly signifies allegience to antichrist. 3) It allienates one against God. Many say that salvation is not possible for those who take the mark. Rev 14:9-12 Does Matthew 5:30 Apply here? And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell. 3 | what about the mark of the beast??? | Rev 13:16 | Wild Olive Shoot | 149072
Don't take Matthew 5:30 out of context. The number of the beast on the hand or forehead is a future event and used to identify ones allegiance to the anti-christ. Christ, when speaking of cutting off your hand was speaking toward our present life, our Christian life, and was speaking figuratively, Christ would not condone self-mutilation, that is what the pagans do. Christ was simply telling us that we must do all we can to eliminate that which causes us to sin. Remove it from our self, or remove our self from it. It sounds extreme when stated like He stated it but we must take it in its harshness and realize how serious sin is. We must do all we can, within our good conscience, to eliminate that which causes us eternal death, sin. WOS |
