1 | What's Satan doing in Heaven in Job? | Rev 12:10 | Reighnskye | 133970
EdB, Here is possibly an earlier incident of where Satan fell from Heaven during Jesus' early ministry. - Luke 10 17 The seventy returned with joy, saying, "Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name." 18 And He said to them, "I was watching Satan fall from heaven like lightning. 19 "Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing will injure you. 20 "Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are recorded in heaven." (NAS95) - Had Satan already fallen from heaven at this time, or is Jesus moreso speaking prophetically here, in reference to the end times? - Blessings, Reighnskye |

In this verse I think Jesus is speaking figuratively in that Satan saw his power being diminished and his works overturned. EdB |

3 | What's Satan doing in Heaven in Job? | Rev 12:10 | Reighnskye | 134238
EdB, You stated: "In this verse I think Jesus is speaking figuratively in that Satan saw his power being diminished and his works overturned." How can we discern if this verse was merely figurative, and not either literal or prophetic? Or any verse for that matter? - Luke 10 18 And He said to them, "I was watching Satan fall from heaven like lightning. (NAS95) - Blessings, Reighnskye |

4 | What's Satan doing in Heaven in Job? | Rev 12:10 | EdB | 134279
Reighnskye If in fact this is literal then we have two problems to deal with. We are told Satan in the accuser in Rev 12:10 and we see this in Job 1:9-11. To accuse us he must have access to heaven. Again we see he does in Job and must assume it continues until we see him cast out of heaven in the Revelation future. Therefore the two problems: If Satan was cast out in Luke 10 then we have no need for a intercessor to defend us before God against Satan accusations. Second the defeat of Satan did not occur until the cross therefore Jesus had to be speaking figuratively here. A third indication is while many of the things that are described in Revelation can be assigned to things past all can not. There are still some things that need to be fulfilled to complete all of Revelation. Since these aren’t fulfilled I believe Revelation is describes a picture yet to be painted making Revelation of a view of the future. Thus Luke 10 and Rev 12 can not be describing the same event.
