NASB | Revelation 12:10 Then I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, ¶ "Now the salvation, and the power, and the kingdom of our God and the authority of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren has been thrown down, he who accuses them before our God day and night. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Revelation 12:10 Then I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, "Now the salvation, and the power, and the kingdom (dominion, reign) of our God, and the authority of His Christ have come; for the accuser of our [believing] brothers and sisters has been thrown down [at last], he who accuses them and keeps bringing charges [of sinful behavior] against them before our God day and night. [Job 1:6-11] |
Subject: What's Satan doing in Heaven in Job? |
Bible Note: Reighnskye If in fact this is literal then we have two problems to deal with. We are told Satan in the accuser in Rev 12:10 and we see this in Job 1:9-11. To accuse us he must have access to heaven. Again we see he does in Job and must assume it continues until we see him cast out of heaven in the Revelation future. Therefore the two problems: If Satan was cast out in Luke 10 then we have no need for a intercessor to defend us before God against Satan accusations. Second the defeat of Satan did not occur until the cross therefore Jesus had to be speaking figuratively here. A third indication is while many of the things that are described in Revelation can be assigned to things past all can not. There are still some things that need to be fulfilled to complete all of Revelation. Since these aren’t fulfilled I believe Revelation is describes a picture yet to be painted making Revelation of a view of the future. Thus Luke 10 and Rev 12 can not be describing the same event.
