LSmith: (Note, does your husband want to open a church or does God want to open a church? The answer to this question is of primary importance.) you have asked a similar question about ordination before and recieved a couple of responses - I have copied one here from Roger 459 for you to review: Jesus said you can preach without Ordination. Please see, Mark 9:38 and Luke 9:49,50. There is a Warning you must Heed in your Preaching and Teaching, it is James 3:1. One thing I have seen and heard in my walk in Christ, "That there are many 'ignorant brethern' who have ministries that are Biblically Unsound. They do not know the Hebrew of the OT and the Greek of the NT. They are Blind leaders of the Blind. IF it is your desire to Preach, you must be a Desciple of Christ, FIRST! You MUST Know the Word and have a Love for the Brethern, and a Greater Love for the Word. Use the guideliens in 1 and 2 Timothy, especially 2Tim 2:14-16! Thank you! mommapbs writes: Most of the time, the wife of a Pastor is seen as a co-laborer. Your husband is in seminary, preparing himself for the work that God has called him to. What about you? Are you seeking God's will for your life? If not,Godly discipline, perhaps even percieved as "criticism" is necessary. You stated that you were "trying to be a good Christian." From this and the questions you have asked on the Forum, might I suggest that you consider the possibility that God has not finished preparing you for what He is calling you to? First of all, no one "tries" to live the "Christian life." Jesus lives HIS life through us. He clearly states in John 15:5 - "Apart from Me, you can do nothing." Please don't take this as criticism, but consider these words as encouragement to get into the Word and allow God to speak to you there. Continue to ask questions of this Forum, but I urge you to seek out the mentorship of a mature Christian woman of God who will assist you in your spiritual development. You will need much Godly wisdom and direction as the wife of a possible future shepherd of God's flock. Blessings, mommapbs |
