1 | 1 day is 1000 years, why? | 2 Pet 3:8 | Love Fountain | 39499
Dear CDBJ, The question I asked you was,"Do you see God's statement that 1000 years to us is as 1 day to God having any reference to time as we know it in referrence to the length of this earth age?" I was asking in regards to the beginning, middle and end which I see as the length of this earth age. My reason for this question has come from the 1 day with God as 1000 years to man referrence which I find myself asking for wisdom and understanding. Recently when reading John 11 about the resurrection of Lazarus, I believe the Holy Spirit gave me a witness to the length of this earth age and how 1000 years to man is 1 day with God. In John 11:17 Jesus comes to Lazarus who has been dead 4 days. I believe these four days are symbolical for the 4000 years that mankind was dead in their sins prior to the birth of Jesus. In John 11:6 Jesus stayed and waited 2 days before going to raise Lazarus from the dead. I believe those 2 days to be symbolical of the 2000 years between Jesus' first and second visit amongst us. Then you have the day that Jesus resurrects Lazarus from the dead, which I believe is symbolic of the 1000 year millenial reign in which we will see the resurrection of the people in Christ and the end of this earth age at the end of the millenium. This is the reason for my question of this earth age being 7 days long to God which is 7000 years to man. What do you think? Bless you, Love Fountain |

Dear Love Fountain, Greetings in the name of Jesus! What do I think? I think this sounds a lot like the SDA, except you have not gone the next step, which is to say, "...therefore, Christ will return on (such and such a date),which will be the start of the millenial reign," or, "...therefore, Christ (already) DID return on (such and such a date), and we are now in the midst of the millenial reign." The problem is that if we say the six days of creation in Genesis is equal to 6000 years of history, then is Genesis void, or is it a 'double entendre?' As has been stated, these numbers theories are vain conjecture at best. We do not have the information necessary to prove the pre-Christ 4000 years. Even if we did, we are forbidden to 'solve' the time of the Lord's return. Blessings and peace in Christ Jesus, charis |

From out of the sea of Japan sweeps a breath of fresh air! Charis, greetings my long-time cherished friend and brother in the Lord. It's good to hear from you and to have your solid input onto a thread that so sorely can use it! Blessings, my friend. --Hank

Dear Hank, Greetings, my friend, in Jesus' name! Actually, I am much closer to Tokyo Bay, but I get your point! :-) Though I have been occupied answering a 'Macedonian Call' (www.macedonianms.org), I have been able to login from time to time and even post a few notes. This one caught my attention because 1) you were involved, and 2) I have 'been there, done that' on this topic on more that one occasion. You see, there was this US Marine chaplain who claimed to have all the answers to the Book of Revelation, and... maybe another time. :-) Well, the MMS team leaves tomorrow, and there is a beautiful new church in Yokohama! Bless the Lord! In Christ Jesus, charis |

And, Charis, I shall pray that that new church in Yokohama may be the instrument by which many souls will be led to know the Lord Jesus Christ. I exult with you, my brother. --Hank
