In my opinion, Peter is just telling the husband and wife to live a loving and faithful life. Specifically, he's telling the husband that the wife (keep in mind the time period this was written and how women were generally treated) is not as versed in the ways of the world and of God (at least publically), and she is not able to "bring home the bacon" like the husband is, but the husband should be understanding and realize that she is equal to the husband when it comes to the grace of life. | ||||||
