1 | We Love Him! | 1 Pet 1:8 | Morant61 | 22694
A Study of 1 Peter 1:8.......................... Peter has had much to say about our past, future, and present in Christ. Here though, he turns his attention to the real focus of our Christian lifes - Jesus Christ Himself! We have received much: God's Word, salvation, regeneration, the presesence of the Holy Spirit, ect.... But, Christ is the focus of it all. Christianity is not a bunch of rules. It is not a system of thought or world view. It is primarily a relationship with our Creator. That relationship of love is a present reality. Peter appeals to this. We don't currently see Him, but we love Him. We trust Him. It is this relationship which fills us with joy inexpressible and full of glory. The world doesn't understand this joy! Hello Tim! I remember Jesus' words to His disciples, "Jesus said to him, "Because you have seen Me, have you believed? Blessed are they who did not see, and yet believed." (John 20:29) This joy that we have is an indescribable gift! Nolan |

3 | We Love Him! | 1 Pet 1:8 | Ray | 22755
Hi Nolan, Hebrews 2:8,9 came to my mind."but now we do not yet see all things subjected to him [Him]. But we do see Him who has been made for a little while lower than the angels, namely, Jesus, because of the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, that by the grace of God He might taste death for everyone. "For it was fitting for Him, for whom are all things, and through whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to perfect the author [Author] of their salvation through suffering." We rejoice at the revelation of Jesus Christ whom to know is to love. |
