I am seeking to understand the following verses: You have been regenerated (born again), not from a mortal origin (seed, sperm), but from one that is immortal by the ever living and lasting Word of God. I Pet 1:23 To purchase the freedom of (to ransom, to redeem, to atone for) those who were subject to the Law, that we might be adopted and have sonship conferred upon us (and be recognized as God's sons). Gal 4:5 For He foreordained us (destined us, planned in love for us) to be adopted (revealed) as His own children through Jesus Christ, in accordance with the purpose of His will (because it pleased Him and was His kind intent) Eph 1:5 In the natural, I was born into the Booker family and have no need to be adopted into the Booker family. Since we have been born of imperishable seed(and I take this to mean we are born into God’s family), why do we need to be adopted? If anyone has any insight, I would be grateful for your time. Thanks in advance to those who may respond… :) Abba Father Bless… |

mbooker, When you are adopted into God's family you receive the imperishable seed that is the Holy Spirit, when you are "born again of water and the Spirit." We are therefore no longer slaves but sons and daughters of God in Christ. See Romans 9 Emmaus |
