Hello PDAL, I'll let Doc speak for himself, but let me say this: What has changed is our relation to sin, cf Rom. 6:11-17ff. Particularly note Rom 7:14-25 where Paul is speaking in the Pesent tense as opposed to the Past tense in 7-13. He says in 7:20, "But if I am doing the very thing I do not want, I am no longer the one doing it, but sin which dwells in me." (NASB) I would also reference Gal. 5:16-17, "But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh. For the flesh sets its desire against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are in opposition to one another, so that you may not do the things that you please." (NASB) I'm not aware of anything stating in scripture that our sin nature has left us! Speaking the Truth in Love, BradK |

Hi BradK and Doc. Spiritual death came into the world through Adam and passed upon all men.Romans5:17death reigned as a king over all men. Spitiually dead men still have a spirit,or rather is a spirit. His spirit has the nature of death.Spiritual death is a nature. We know that eternal life ,spirit life,is a nature, the God kind of life,is a nature. It is the life, the nature of God.Ephesians4:18 calls it the life of God,which the unbeliever is alienated from,2 Peter 1:4 calls it the devine nature.God is a Spirit and the nature of his being ia life.Well, if life is a nature, then death must be a nature.Rightousness was not just imputed to us,it has been imparted to us. Let us locate sin,Romans6:12 NKJV.Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts.Sin is not in your spirit ,it is in you mortal body,it is in your mind. You are a spirit, that has a soul or mind, that lives in a body,a threefold being. |
