1 | Is He with U in the battle? Will U win? | Deut 20:1 | Counselor | 79231
During this time of war for the "freedom of the Iraqi people," it is time we look at our own battles (which belong to the Lord) and struggles for freedom and also our fear of loosing. When you read verse 1 of this chapter, do you sense that God is assuring you of His promise that He'll be with you through this battle just like the one before it? That His presence in the situation will assure you of prevailing in His peace? That you are not alone?

3 | Read the Bible w/ the mind of Christ?... | Deut 20:1 | Counselor | 79248
Searcher, If you are indeed a "searcher" understand that to read the Bible, it must be read with the mind of Christ through the Holy Spirit. Talk to your pastor about whether or not the Bible is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative written Word of God. It is written for all and all applies. One reference for that is Col. 1:16-17. Now with the mind of Christ, as you read this passage of scripture, does it offer YOU any hope? Does it speak to your heart that God will be with you through your trials and tribulations? That His presence is sufficient for YOUR peace (Ex. 33:14; Ps. 16:11b; Is. 43:3)? Counselor |

4 | Read the Bible w/ the mind of Christ?... | Deut 20:1 | Searcher56 | 79256
I believe you were trying to force Deuteronomy 20:1 saying it did apply to the United States today. I looked at the context and proved otherswise, that was my point. Colossains 1:15-20 (you only wanted to look at 16-17) is about the supremacy of Christ, where do you get that this passage is about "Bible is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative written Word of God. It is written for all and all applies." Once again, not all promises apply to all. Deuteronomy 20 was only for Israel, as they entered the promised land at that time. You have failed to prove otherwise. Answer my questions of my previous post. Searcher |

5 | Does the Bible not speak of His love? | Deut 20:1 | Counselor | 79257
Searcher, Why are you taking the love out of the Word of God? And why are you so bent on theology that you cannot see the love He has given in Scripture for those who are already struggling with understand God and His promises? |

6 | Does the Bible not speak of His love? | Deut 20:1 | Searcher56 | 79260
Counselor, I am not taking the love out of the Word of God. Are you struggling with understand God and His promises? Do you fail to see not all of them apply to everyone? Apparently you are pushing doctinal error. Read Deuteronomy 20 carefully ... better meditate on it. Is this is promise for today? If so do we see ... horses and chariots people more numerous than you (the US vs Iraq) priest shall come near and speak we being called Israel Hittite and the Amorite, the Canaanite and the Perizzite, the Hivite and the Jebusite as the ones we battle You do ignore what God says ... I'll respond no more on this matter. |

7 | Does the Bible not speak of His love? | Deut 20:1 | Counselor | 79264
Searcher, Thank you for your comments in this matter. I took some time to read some of your questions and answers over the last three years and have come to know you as a result. Fortunately I know in whom I believe and am not looking for a debate; just to help some folks see the Jesus of the Bible. I will pray for the LOVE of the Holy Spirit to be manifest in your life and in the answers you provide to those who seek Him through you. Remember, except a man be born of water and of the Spirit (of God), he cannot enter into the Kingdom of God. See, feel and know the love of Christ. Provide a venue for discussion rather than criticism. I pray that God will allow you to see that people have struggles (maybe you have not had any) and need the hope of the Soon Coming King to see them through. These people need to know that God helped others and that He is sure to help them IF they follow Him. God loves all of us and His promises are not for everyone, but they are for the saints of God - even you. God bless you! Counselor |
