1 | many Muslims say this promises Mohammad | Deut 18:18 | 1Cor13 | 52708
Seems that this verse, together with Deut 18:15, etc. are often quoted by our friends of the Islamic faith to the effect that Mohammad, and not Jesus, is the promised prophet (they say from among your brethren means from the Ishmaelites). When confronted with such saying, I think it's constructive to note the parallel Deut 17:15.

That seems pretty silly for them to say that, when countrymen clearly refers to the Israelites. The Ishmaelites were not considered the brethren of the Israelites back then any more than they consider themselves brothers now. --Joe! |
