1 | Shall we eat out tithe/offerings? | Deut 12:18 | srbaegon | 177011
Hello iktoose, Pastors, missionaries, evangelists, and church workers are not modern day Levites. The Levites did the "dirty work" for the tabernacle service--setting up, taking down, guarding, carrying the furnishings, etc. If you must find a modern day equivalent, it would be the deacons. But that really would not be correct either. God's desire is that each of his children would be act as a priest. This was even true of Israel (Exod 19:6). They failed, and God selected the tribe of Levi to minister to him with only one family (Aaron) who could serve as priests. Today, the entire church is a royal and holy priesthood and all minister to God. Now as to your desire to bring together to share--it's great idea. The New Testament calls that fellowship (Acts 2:42). Just don't burden it down by applying a law that is no longer needed. Steve |

2 | Shall we eat out tithe/offerings? | Deut 12:18 | iktoose | 177012
Hi Steve, I think pastors, missionaries, evangelists, and church workers are considered modern day Levites. I am confident that many many pastors/priests do believe that way and preach so. Also, I have been preached/taught that our tithe are rightfully their shares. And my pastor makes me feel guilty by citing Mal 3:8-10 on a weekly basis that if I don't tithe, it would be stealing from God. Am I brain washed? iktoose |

Hello iktoose, No, you're not brainwashed. You've received some incorrect teaching. I've heard some of the same in the past. Do a study concerning who the Levites were and what they did, and compare that to what pastors are in the NT. You will see the difference. Steve |
