1 | Ref. on animals having no spirit? | James 2:26 | AshleyC | 54079
I have always been taught that the spirit is what makes the difference between life and death and the soul is the part that lives forever in either heaven or hell after death. Is there somewhere in the Bible where this is spelled out more clearly than in I Thes. 5:23? I understand that we worship in spirit, but doesn't the Bible say that all flesh worships God? Doesn't that mean animals because they are his creation?

First of all, after death the soul does not live on forever in heaven or hell. After a person dies, he/she goes into the ground and awaits the coming of Christ. May I recommend that you read 1 Thess 4:10 on. Verse 16 clearly states that the "dead" in Christ shall rise when He returns again. Pray before reading the chapter. Although all flesh worships God, our Creator, does not necessarily mean that animals worship Him. That is a question we need to ask our Creator when we see Him face to face.
