1 | Is this person saved? | Heb 6:4 | Searcher56 | 7524
Only God knows ... But, saying a prayer, going forward, et. al. does not mean one called on Him for their salvation. We cannot say if anyone was born again. Is going to bars, running with the wrong crowd any worse than going 1 MPH over the speed limit or honoring your parents? All are sins. If people like Mother Theresa did not accept Chirst into their heart, they are lost. On the other hand, there are people who accept the Lord minutes before they die. BTW Satan can copy "speaking in tongues" as well as other things. |

Dear Steve, Only God knows...But? But what? Only God knows, right? I fail to see the gist of your answer. In Christ Jesus, charis |

Only God knows who is saved ... and the person themselves. You asked "Is this person saved?"
4 | Only God knows...but, what? | Heb 6:4 | charis | 7530
Dear Steve, That was the point of my original question. Only God knows, and the person themself. Every person that comes to the Lord (or is apprehended by Jesus, or gives their heart to the Lord) knows they are saved. But they stumble. Then some repent, calling upon His name for mercy, and grace is poured forth again. This person knows (again) that God has granted salvation. You must either say that man cannot discern his own salvation, or God can (and does) grant repentance to those that fall away. This is precisely why I do not believe that 'born again' is a finite moment. You have the 'born again, again predicament.' Blessings in Christ Jesus, charis |

5 | Only God knows...but, what? | Heb 6:4 | jim | 7580
In Acts 2 Peter preached the first message of the church and after he got done in verse 40 he said Save yourselves from this untoward generation. We must choose everyday to follow Jesus. If one falls. stumbles, or wanders i think they shall repent and be forgiven but one who has tasted and then turns maybe maybe not. I know God is just and after we get back and repent can we ever gain the ground we lost. I will never say saved or lost, i mostly check the fruit they have. Jim
