Hello survivor, "So was God choosing among Jesus and 'those who communed' with him the one to exalt to his throne based upon the extent to which each loved righteousness and hated lawlessness? It doesn't seem logical." You're right. It's not logical. It's also not what I said nor what the text is saying. Also your view of Israel's history skewed.
