Angels worshipped. Heb for worship(sha kah); Joshua 5:14 in King James: worship 99, bow 31, bow down 18, obeisance 9, reverence 5, fall down 3, themselves 2, stoop 1, crouch 1, miscellaneous 3 “And he said, Nay; but as captain of the host of the LORD am I now come. And Joshua fell on his face to the earth, and did worship, and said unto him, What saith my lord unto his servant?” Also the American Standard translates the Hebrew as worship. And he said, Nay; but [as] prince of the host of Jehovah am I now come. And Joshua fell on his face to the earth, and did worship, and said unto him, What saith my lord unto his servant? Gen. 18:2 “ When he raised his eyes, then he looked and there three men were standing some distance from him. Joshua worshipped Christ (Jos 5:13-14). Gen 18:2 is about worshiping God. Angels refused worship (Rev 19:10, 22:9). Gen 23:7 is about men, not angels. |
