1Jn 5:2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. 1Jn 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous. Rev 12:17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Yahoshua "Jesus Christ". Rev 14:12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Yahoshua "Jesus". Jam 1:27 Pure religion and undefiled before Elohim and the Father is this, to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world. Psa 68:5 A father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows, is Elohim in his Holy habitation. Deu 10:18 He does execute the judgment of the fatherless and widow, and loves the stranger, in giving him food and raiment. Deu 10:19 Love you therefore the stranger: for you were strangers in the land of Egypt. Psa 82:3 Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy. Psa 82:4 Deliver the poor and needy: rid them out of the hand of the wicked. Isa 1:17 Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow. Isa 1:18 Come now, and let us reason together, says YHWH: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. 2 | Define the true church. | Heb 12:23 | stjohn | 217179
rakpak, do you mind telling us what translation you're using? In Isa 1:18 you have substuted YHWH for the word, God. I have seen this translated as, God, Yahweh, and even, Jehovah, but never as YHWH. |

Don't mind at all. Its mine. YHWH or YHVH as some use is for LORD, not God. And actually "LORD" has been subsituted for YHWH. Even most modern translations will tell you this in the preface of their bible. God would be Elohim, El and sometimes "Elah" also. I'd have to double check on the last one. |

5 | Define the true church. | Heb 12:23 | rakpak | 217186
Yes, I have been working on it for over three years, still not finished, but getting close. I also have some others helping me, we sometimes work on it during Bible study. I hope this doesn't make me a heretic or something. |

8 | Define the true church. | Heb 12:23 | stjohn | 217194
Dear rakpak, Am I to presume that all the modern translations have words that have been added? Pray tell, what words have been added that the translators somehow all missed? Could they really all have been wrong? Did the Holy Spirit show you these, 'words' or did you figurer it out all on your own? John p.s. By the way, my name is John, you don't have to call me stjohn, you may, however, call me John the baptist, i.e. southern baptist. :-) |

I didn't mean any disrespect, wasn't sure how many Johns were on here. I'll stick with John. As you well know, all words in italis are added, in some cases it does help to clarify, but in some cases it has caused confusion. Pro 25:2 It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honor of kings is to search out a matter. The Holy Spirit leads all of us, if we earnstly seek him and his truth. |
