1 | Are these the "willfully sinning" v26? | Heb 10:39 | Mommapbs | 155554
Greetings to you Makarios - I trust that your "completion" is faring well with you and your bride! Thank for the commentary. Is unbelief is the root of all sin? From these verses could we gather that there is a point that God says "no more"? He gives the opportunity to accept or reject His sacrifice; His offer of grace. Therefore, those who have had it extended and reject it are willfully sinning. This is a different position from those who might try to use this passage as a case against the eternal security of the believer. Any other thoughts here? Blessings, mommapbs |

2 | Are these the "willfully sinning" v26? | Heb 10:39 | Makarios | 155563
Greetings Mommapbs, Yes, my wife and I are doing very well! :-) I would agree with what DocTrinsograce has written earlier. I believe that the answer to your question lies in Matthew 25:32-46.. Those who KNEW Christ will be saved (34-40), while those who did not know Him will be condemned (41-45). So my answer would be an affirmative "Yes"; that unbelief, or apostasy, is what God finds so unforgivable: the beginning and end, the root of all sin. Blasphemy against God also stems from unbelief and rebellion. Blessings to you, Makarios |

3 | Are these the "willfully sinning" v26? | Heb 10:39 | Mommapbs | 155575
Greetings Makarios! Knowing Christ differs from knowing God in Romans 1:21; Mt 25:24. Mt 25:25 "see what You have is Yours." Is it? Did the slave recognize God's ownership of him? Imo, if he had, he would have honored the Master with what had been given to him. Might the measure of faith (Rom 12:3) that God gives to each of us be a "talent"? God has given man an awareness of Himself and a measure of faith to respond to this awareness. People can know God and still be apostate. This is different from knowing Christ - belief, faith in His finished work; responding to God's love in Christ with the measure of faith that God has given. Comments? Blessings, mommapbs |

4 | Are these the "willfully sinning" v26? | Heb 10:39 | Makarios | 155594
Greetings Mommapbs, Romans 1:21 completes supports what I wrote to you about Matthew 25:32-46. Not every man has faith. Apostates and unbelievers do not have faith. I am a bit confused by your comments and not at all sure of where you are going with your thinking, or if it is based upon Scripture. Blessings to you, Makarios |

5 | Are these the "willfully sinning" v26? | Heb 10:39 | Mommapbs | 155602
Makarios, you are speaking of saving faith. I agree, apostates and unbelievers do not have this. The danger is, imo, that there are those who "say" they believe in God, yet do not know that they do not have the faith that is approved by God. Would you agree that there are those who know about God but do not "know" Him? Did the slave "know" his Master as he claimed? Could the talent represent what God gives us - faith - faith that is meant to be placed in the finished work of Jesus Christ, not in the ground. (Adam?) "He also has planted eternity in men's hearts and minds [a divinely implanted sense of a purpose working through the ages which nothing under the sun but God alone can satisfy]," Ecc 3 :11 (AMP) From this have I erroneously concluded that everyone has an "awareness of God?" Man has the ability to choose - to exercize faith in God (as evidenced in obedience to believe in Christ as God has commanded 1 John 3:23) or reject God - the wicked slave buried the talent. He did not respond to what the Master had given him.(Heb 11:6) He chose his way instead of the Way of the Master. What is our responsibility toward those who are apostate? (I am facing this issue right now with a friend who refuses to believe.) Thanks for your input! Blessings, mommapbs |

6 | Are these the "willfully sinning" v26? | Heb 10:39 | Makarios | 156824
Greetings Mommapbs! I apologize that it has taken me so long to respond to your note. I would agree that there are those who know about God but don't really know Him as their personal Lord and Savior. The only advice that I can give you from personal experience is that persistence and persistence through prayer pays! I am not saying that we should witness to people every single time that we are with them if they refuse to believe. But we can go on being ourselves, our own light and witness to them, and to continue praying that the Lord will knock down the strongholds that they have built up around themselves to keep them away from believing. Many times, I see that the people that I witness to are watching me, to see if I walk the same thing that I talk to them about. Another thing to consider is that you have planted the seed! And another Christian will perhaps take your work further, hopefully resulting in the salvation of the soul. Blessings to you! Makarios |
