1 | Was Paul an overseer or deacon? | Titus 1:6 | Searcher56 | 124128 | ||
Kalos, "Further the Bible ENCOURAGES remarriage after widowhood" ... 1 Cor 7:39 says "wishes" and in verse 40 says "But in my opinion she is happier if she remains as she is; and I think that I also have the Spirit of God". which is the opposite. I know you are quoting MacArthur, but I think he is wrong. Marriage after divorce. Again, MacArthur doesn't say the reason one can remarry after divorce. The only one FREE from the previous spouse, is when an unbeliever leaves (1 Cor 7:15) ... the passages in Matthew deal with the hard hearts, I think of the innocent person. Was Paul an overseer or deacon? I believe he started churches and preached ... but that doesn't make him either. There are men like that today. Moreover, being a 'one-woman man' is only one of the qualifications. Next on the list is children. If one has no children, are they DQed? Searcher |
