1 | Preach the Word | 2 Tim 4:2 | DocTrinsograce | 239253 | ||
"Second Timothy 3 and verse 16, the Apostle Paul writes, 'All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness so that,' there's the famous phrase, 'the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus who will judge the living and the dead, and in view of His appearing and His Kingdom, I give you this charge, preach the Word. Be prepared in season and out of season, correct, rebuke and encourage with great patience and careful instruction.' "And as you notice from these few words that we have read, the Apostle is quick to clarify in Timothy's mind the primary instrument that he is to use. It's divinely inspired and it is sufficient for all the work the man of God is required to do so that he might be thoroughly, completely, adequately equipped for every good work. The second based on the first is that he puts a charge upon him, a hair-raising charge, invoking the name of God the Father, God the Son, pointing to the coming judgment and he says to him, 'Not only that you are to preach, but that you are to preach the Word.' You are to expound these scriptures that I've spoken about. And thirdly, not only when you've got an audience that's willing and ready and looking forward to hearing what we have to say. But even when men and women are stopping their ears, preach it. Be patient but preach it. Do all you can to ensure that this happens." --Conrad Mbewe (2013) Read or listen to the whole sermon: http://www.gty.org/resources/sermons/TM13-13/are-we-preachers-or-witch-doctors-conrad-mbewe |

Greetings Doc, Why to "preachers" TALK about a portion of Scripture with no meat ... or just try to tickle the ears? Methinks some do for their own self and wanting a higher position in the denomination. They even do TOO MANY things outside the church. I am talking about my pastor. |
