1 | Do you think US has these people? | 2 Tim 3:5 | coop1 | 24614 | ||
Hi Nolan, Thank you for your quick answer. Let me say first, I am sorry about your family...I have very similar stories and I think their are many people who have shared similar experiences. I know that helps ease your pain any...but sometimes it helps to know that "we are not the only ones". The good news is...as a Christian, you now have a new family, with a very bright future! I tend to agree with you that this could mean families and nations as well. I noticed when you were talking about nations you distinguished between those who persecute Christians or who have no resemblance to Christianity, but did not mention those who do practice Christianity? When I read back over the passage 2Tim. 3:5...I saw that it said; highminded, lovers of self, boasters, lovers of pleasure, unthankful, disobedient to parents, unholy ect...but did not see anything in that passage to indicate that this may only include nations that deny Christianity. What I am saying is, I think even nations who allow Christian worship can also contain people like these passages descibe. Would you agree? Look at America, we allow Christian worship...but we also allow no worship and the worship of false gods. We certainly have our fair share of boasters, and prideful people, lovers of pleasure and disobedient children, ect..wouldn't you say? I think that would be a hard point to question. Therefor, I would ask you...Do you think America could be one of those countries (in it's present state) that we could be called to turn away from? I know this is a hard question because it brings about feelings of treason on some level, and then there is the whole "submitting to the governing authorities thing"...but if you can, please answer honestly and from a spiritual stand point. And if you agree with this...than how do we do both? Turn away from a country...where we must obey the governing laws? Thanks...coop1 :-) |

coop1, It is in the human nature to want to kill someone who has wronged you so deeply as OBL has done to us. It is also human nature to "follow the crowd". Many people who are doing the "chanting" are doing it because everyone else is doing it. These are both the results of Adam taking a bite of the apple 6000 years ago. And it will get worse. The bible has been quite clear on that. Let me ask you a question - when the going gets rough in your personal life do you give up on God or start doubting him? The United States has taken a strong blow from some very evil men, and she has staggered a bit, but she will come out of this proud. What your son is partaking in is defending God and the right to honor God - and it didn't just become very evil and sinister. What is happening here is a war in spiritual places because Satan knows his time is about up. America had to go to war and I stand beside her 100 percent! I am not proud of some of the people in this country but I am proud of America! America is defending the right to be free to worship the way God has called us to worship not only for us Americans but for others as well. America is defending the right to "feed the poor". America is taking a stand in defending women and widows and orphans who should not be abused and disregarded but who should be loved and cared for. America is defending what the country was built upon - one nation under God, indivisible, with LIBERTY and justice for all. And to some that will mean the right to worship idols and false gods. But if America withdrew from this war or had never started it just where would we be? Probably being beaten for not worshiping Allah. How would we witness for our Lord then? prayon - a veteran |

Hi Prayon, Thank you for your thoughtful response. You ask me if when the going gets rough in my own life, do I doubt God? The answer is a very solid NO. Nor do I doubt God in this situation in the least. That is exactly my point. I am troubled that we as a nation, collectively, have not turned to God in our response to the attacks. I would have been so much more comfortable with all of this, had I seen our leaders at some point, in some way...get down on their knees with us and for us...and have looked upward and cried out..."oh God, how would you have us deal with this attack? Forgive us our unrighteousness O Lord and guide our actions against our enemies." If I had the assurance in my heart that this was a God commanded physical fight...that "He" wanted us to pull out planes and bombs and guns...then I would not be having these doubts about our actions. But I don't have that. All of my reading of the word and praying and listening tells me that we are not doing as God would have us do. That is the part that concerns me, because if we are not acting as God would have us to...we are in a very dangerous place. And that we no longer live as 'one nation under God', but we are now more 'one nation under compromise' is a problem. It is a problem because, as we seek to issue justice out to the world...from what barrel do we get the right to do that...are we truly justified before God ourselves...with the righteouseness to do that job? I argue that by faith in the promises of God we are justified only, both personally and collectively. Therefore being justified by faith we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ...by whom also we we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice and hope of the glory of God. Where is our faith? Does our nation truly have it's faith in God, obeying His word, waiting for His promise? Or is our faith in OURselves and OUR might? You are very right when you say this is a spiritual battle. It is evil that we are fighting here. Even if we were to kill Bin Ladin with our bombs...the evil spirit that drives him would live. And God will protect us from that evil if we look to Him and rest our faith in Him and His promises to protect those that truly belong to Him. It is the wrath of God that we need fear...not the evil, not if we are right with God. We shall be saved from the wrath of God through Jesus. By following His teachings. As a Nation under God, we need not fear terrorism or evil or Bin ladin or anything! If God be for us, who can be against us? In all these things, we are MORE than conquerors through Him that loved us. For the warth of God is revealed from heaven against ALL ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness. Because that when they knew God they glorified Him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools. And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God, into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beast, and creeping things. Wherefore God gave them up to uncleanliness through the lust of their own hearts, to dishonor their own bodies between themselves. Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the creator, who is blessed forever, Amen. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient. Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetouesness, maliciousness; full of murder, inventors of evil things, disobeying parents, unmerciful. And if I could say one thing to our President, it would be this: And thinkest thou this O man which judge them which do such things, and do the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God? (Romans chapters 1 and 2) I pray you understand. coop1 |

Dear coop1, Peace upon you in Jesus' name! My sister in Christ, I think you are proceeding with your rant against America with the grave misunderstanding that it is a theocracy. America has never been a theocracy. There has never been a true theocracy in the history of mankind. America is a democracy, rule by fallible and sometimes sinful people. We hope that many of the decisions made by our leaders are made with a right heart, one that wants to serve God while serving the people entrusted to them. America also has a lot of responsibility to help provide an atmosphere of peace so that wanton violence and terrorism do not rule the world. Please, please stop your political activism on this forum. While it is true that America has it's problems and sins and compromise, trust me when I say that America provides an environment for serving God unavailable anywhere else in the world! I have traveled around a bit, and can vouch for my country. As countries go, you are blessed. Serve the Lord, serve His church, and submit to the land that God has blessed you with. If you were to go around the world, you would surely find that you are able to reconcile these things better in America than anywhere else you might go. As to your unkind words for our president, remember that he is a political officer. But he has also proclaimed Christ Jesus in a manner unlike any president in along time! He is not a priest, a pastor, or an elder in the church, but a leader of the government. As exhorted in the Bible, I pray that the Lord would guide him in wisdom and truth by the Holy Spirit. Please reconsider your attitude toward God in this matter, and find peace for your soul. In Christ Jesus, charis |

Hello again charis, And greetings to you. You still don't understand. This is NOT a rant about America. This is in NO WAY political. I know that America is a democracy. I understand all that just fine. I am not running for office here. I have come with a message that has been given me, and I am speaking to the church. I am going to let it rest, because I see that know one is hearing. First, I must respond to your comments. While I very much agree with most of what you said, I regret that you said it with such a distasteful attitude. I am serving the church, or trying too...I am submitted to the land, but I cannot sit idely back while the elect of this nation is sucked into a spiral of hate and vengence. It is like this..if you want to condone fighting and war it is your choice. But you have been warned that there are others ways. I have spent 4 or 5 days here trying to get the message through...the message that all we have to do is turn to God. I would not want to be standing next to someone who has a gun or a bomb or any weapon of destruction in his hand and ready to strike, even his enemy, when the wrath of God is poured out. And if you are condoning it in spirit, your hand is at the handle already. We do not have to corrupt ourselves by violence against even our enemies. We do not have to raise the weapons of man nor are we called as Christians to do so. We must continue teaching the Kingdom of Heaven as it must grow from our earthly realm. We must walk with the gospel of peace shod about our feet. We must stand JUSTIFIED BY FAITH. We must lean on the promises of God in these evil times, that He will take care of us. That He will protect us from evil and be prepared to stand on that faith when we are given over for persecution. And when we come against our evil persecuters, we still have no need to strike back nor worry about what we should say, because God will give us what we need say. Except the trials you are going through as God's will and count them as dung in comparison to your rewards that wait for you in so doing. We need not fear evil, for our weapons are layed before us. We can overcome all matter of evil with our spiritual weapons. We do not have to fight as the heathen do. Our battle is against the principalities of evil not with flesh and blood. Pride goeth before a fall. I am sad that so much of it exist among us. To much even to learn from one another. To much to back down from a fight...which has been my point all along. We can not continue seperating the church from the governing laws. They are intertwinded no matter how hard we try to make them not. And while an important part of this equation is to abide and watch our personal lives...the other part of the equation is that together we are a nation, which needs spiritual tending too. For how can you care for the whole vehicle by only oiling one part? and ignoring the mass. Please do not forget, through ONE man sin entered in and through ONE man many suffered death. Evil grows. Bad character corrupts good character, not visa versa. You can kill the terrorist with your bombs, but you can't kill the evil with them. All you will do is bloody your hands. The fields are ripe for harvest. Pray for laborers. I for one will not be carrying a weapon of destruction on my heart, into those fields...only to taint the harvest. As for my "unkind" words to our president...I did not say a single word. I quoted a single scripture...Romans 2:3 And as "for peace for my soul"...that will come when the job is done, evil has been destroyed, and I am home with my Lord. coop1 |

Dear coop1, Greetings and peace in Jesus' name! I know that you feel that you are a 'voice crying out in the wilderness,' but I can't help thinking that you are misjudging a lot of good saints. I don't think anyone is 'supporting' war. It seems that you believe that we are all blind to the things of God. I assure you that we are a spiritual people that also recognize the social responsibility that the Lord has given us. We are not 'brandishing weapons with bloodlust,' but simply using these tools to contain the violent and bring them to justice. (I'm not sure what my 'distasteful attitude' is?) Blessings in Christ Jesus, charis |

Hello charis, I invite you to read back over some of the responses to my message. And if by chance you do this...please do so with an open mind. I have been burnt at the stake here. Reported for posting my messages and told, "Arrivederchi, Coop1". Those messages have been restricted from the homepage and I have heard loud and clear..."we don't want to hear it". Why? Because I do not believe christians should uphold war, and took the time to explain...with scripture back up, why I felt that way. And yet, I was said to be the one who didn't want to hear another's veiw and was ranting about some political agenda. Their are many spiritual people out there who agreed with me however...and I thank God for them. I ask you to imagine God in heaven looking down upon us ripping at each others flesh and polluting His earth with smoke and fumes and noise and confusion...and His church accepting it and in some respects condoning it...without doing all they can do to end it and bring peace. We can pray and fast, we can speak up when the opportunity arises...we can take back our country and return it to God by getting involved in governing issues. We can nominate and elect those who profess God, and pray like crazy that we get more of God's people in office. We can vote "no" for issues that we know are against God. We can teach that war is wrong, show biblical evidence of it, and lead the way to victory. We can turn away from those who partake in blood shed, even if it is our own. And we can let our leaders know that we disapprove. We can go into the harvest fields with the breath of hope and faith and encouragement showing a new way to victory. A man cannot take his next breath with out the will of God. Why then would we need a weapon? Is not our God greater than the terrorist or the evil that drives them? Why NOT trust Him to do away with them and their evil agenda? All we need do is put on the armour of God, and that does not include any weapons of destruction. I am finished. May God bless All nations and peoples...coop1 |
