Someone is sure to say he didn’t. The reasoning for that will likely be complicated. So let me offer first a simpler answer. Inspiration. How did Moses know what had happened before his birth? How could he write with confidence: “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth”? How did he know that the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters? Inspiration. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. He moved upon the waters. He moved upon holy men like Moses. And he is moving on you now. Does it make sense? The God who told Isaiah and David how Jesus would die told Moses how he would die. |
