Hi, Justme! Very good post. While I understand the zeal to work for God, I also understand the importance of spiritual preparation. I've been called by God to be a teacher/evangelist (I didn't even know what an evangelist was when I was called, imagine if I had gone out trying to evangelize!!). However, the last thing I want to do is go out and teach people wrongly and become a stumbling block to others. I think what you said about being a "lone ranger" is very important. As I grow spiritually, I see the importance of staying under leadership: it teaches the soul subjection and humility - both are needed when commissioned by God, or else we'll be out there teaching of ourselves. Also, patience and long-suffering are important while you've been called to a ministry, but haven't been sent out yet. I learned that it doesn't matter how much zeal you have if you are not lead by the Holy Ghost, you are ineffective - a voice in the wilderness! WalkingTalkingBible |
