1 | Could you clarify for me? | 1 Tim 6:12 | shamrock | 174065 | ||
Thank you for your answer. Could I ask you if you agree with elektos and mark? I only ask this because you say 'Putting our faith in Him is a fight daily'. Does that mean a fight within ourselves, like resisting evil... or a fight with out, like with others, be it Christian or non Christian? I hope this type of question is acceptable to the forum. If not, I appologize. I've only been here a short time. Pat |

Scripture ... Mar 7:8-23; Rom 7:15ff, 12:1-2; Eph 6:12; 1 Tim 1:18-20, 6:3-16 ... God's day to you, Pat, It is a great question. I believe in the context of 1 Timothy 6:12 (vv 3-16), it is external battles to be conformed to the world Rom 12:1-2). Paul stated the letter with the same thought (1:18-20). Our outward actions are based on our inward man (Mar 7:8-23) ... and there is a battle there (Rom 7:15ff). So we fight against the external pressures to be chaged (or remain the same) internally. There is also a battle with Satan, Inc (Eph 6:12). So there a third fight against Satan. Searcher |
