2 | Who is the overseer today? | 1 Tim 3:1 | dtepede | 156512 | ||
The overseer today is a perspective issue. I believe we should view the overseer as simply leadership and what one who holds such office should do with it. i strongly believe we are all called to be leaders- priests and kings. The bible empowers our view to know that each believer will be ruled by the holy spirit and a form of position we all take is the position of fufiling the Spiit's instruction. There is no doubt there is heirachy and structure in every organisation but if the one placed in the position of leading an organisation has this perspective of every one being a leader in view, he puts himself in the 'learning position' so an environment of trust, openness, integrity and love is created. If this perspective is envisioned, undue reverence for a man is eliminated and laities taking the decision to allow their self goals to be diverted and trying so hard to fit into the leaders personal vision which God may not envision for them is also eliminated. It is imperative to know that everything rises and falls on leadership. So if the mentality of Jesus is ingrained into our leaders then the world would be a better place. The church will be light of the world and the salt of the earth. |
