Ha! Was it a woman that was first enticed by the serpent? (Genesis 3:1-6) Was Rachel any help to Jacob when she stole the household gods? (Genesis 31:19) Was it a woman who tempted Joseph and whose lies and trickery was responsible for his imprisonment? (Genesis 39) Was it a woman who asked for the head of John the Baptist? (John 14:8) Was Job's wife any help or any encouragement to him? (Job 2:9) Was David's wife any help to him? (2 Samuel 6:16-23) Were all of Solomon's wives of any help at all to him? (1 Kings 11:1-4) And I could go on and on and on.. It seems to me that Paul was right when he said that it is better not to marry (1 Cor. 7:1)..
