1 | Biblical - women preachers/teachers??? | 1 Tim 2:12 | Emmaus | 123602 | ||
Hi Zsuzsi, I never cease to be amazed at your facility in English. You write better than many whose mother tongue is English. You may find this letter on the topic in question of interest. It was written by a well known Eastern European preacher of whom you may have heard. http://www.ewtn.com/library/PAPALDOC/JP2MULIE.HTM God bless! Emmaus |

Hi Emmaus, Thank you! Wow, this is long...! Seeing it is Roman Catholic, written by the Pope (whom I not only have heard of but have much respect for btw), I suspect I know what the conclusion is going to be; but I promise to read it through thoroughly. :-) God bless you, Zsuzsi |

Hi Zsuszi, The previous link I gave you deals with the general concept of the dignity of women. Below you will find a link to a much shorter document regarding the reservation of priestly ordination to men, which of course is a very different thing from the ministry as understood in Protestant communions and even different from the understanding of priestly ordination in the Anglican communion. I thought it important that the first link was presnted before this one, so that the whole context of the subject is preserved. Ministry in the broader sense is fully open to women and has been exercised to the great benefit of the Church since its founding by Christ.
