1 | What's really going on? | 1 Thess 5:18 | Mommapbs | 125100
Prayon - God is sovereign; our faith does not direct the hand of God. After reading your post to WTB, if one of your loved ones came down with diabetes, would you declare that they lacked faith? Would you tell them that they are "healed" and deny them insulin injections to keep it under control? Illness is not the result of a lack of faith in God or His ability or desire to heal. I believe that the "name it and claim it" philosophy you have advocated to WTB could be injurious to others both physically and spiritually. mommapbs |

2 | So His stripes were in vain? | 1 Thess 5:18 | prayon | 125134
mommapbs, So you believe that it is God's intention for us not to be healed but if we get sick that we should just live with it? When we claim a healing we are claiming it in the spiritual realm - and in the spiritual realm we have it - if we have the faith to receive it. That healing may not appear instantaneously in the physical but we should be looking for it to appear. And yes I would declare my loved one lacked faith if they did not believe that God can heal them and if they were not looking to receive that healing in the physical realm. Until that manifestation we should continue with insulin or whatever the illness requires. My question to you is that the bible says that "by His stripes we are healed". How can God want us to remain sick (just live with it) when He sent Jesus to the cross so we didn't have to? Was part of God's sacrifice in vain? If Jesus bore all my sickness on the cross why should I have to suffer with it now? prayon |

3 | So His stripes were in vain? | 1 Thess 5:18 | EdB | 125139
prayon What your claiming is near truth but let me ask you a question is there anywhere in all of scripture that teaches this? Jesus didn't teach this, the Apostles didn't teach this, Paul didn't teach this. In fact Paul many times made reference to sick brothers and asked for prayer to them and their healing. Why didn't Paul just explain to them their healing was already provided all they had to do was accept it? That would have been far easier than sending letters to all the churches requesting prayer for something that was already done. Go back to Isaiah 53 our salvation is instantly provided, by grace, once we believe and trust in Jesus. Why not our healing. Same cross, same wording, yet one is instantly and always, yet your saying we have to "work" to get our healing. Doesn't make a lot of sense does it? Well it does if we apply that healing to our spirit and then our salvation and our "spiritual" healing comes instantly by grace we don't have to do a thing. If our healing was cross as your applying Isaiah 53 every Christian upon their prayer for salvation should instantly be healed just as they are instantly saved. If we read that same passage in 2 peter it is clear here Peter is speaking of a spiritual healing. Doesn't that make you question why if this is talking of physical healing would Peter quote the passage in relation to spiritual healing? Also no where else in scripture are we promised total and complete healing his side of heaven. Prayon before you respond to this and the post I made to you on similar subject. Read what I have said, this isn't a debate over whether God heals or not but it is a debate over if healing is promised to every believer. Read scripture, on how the Apostles taught about healing, how Paul taught and how Paul dealt with sickness both in himself and in his fellow workers. Then read the promises in Revelation where it says there will be no more sickness. Then ask youself if Jesus promised us a healing why do all these things point to dealing with sickness that shouldn't exist. EdB |
