Hi, paparis... Welcome to the forum! The mourning process is one that is common to all peoples. The Scripture does not give us any guidelines as to the length of time that mourning should occur. That would be entirely a cultural and personal matter. However, we do know that we do not grieve as those without hope. In English we use that word hope interchangeably with the word wish. Biblical hope, however, means a confident expectation. We who are believers know that our God is working out His eternal purpose in everything that takes place. Each molecule in the universe is in its proper place. Knowing the nature of God -- His love, His power, His wisdom, His holiness -- allows us to rest in Him, even through the difficult times of live.
