Mike Our salvation was bought and paid for at the cross. We enter into salvation by having a relationship with Christ. Our sins tend to effect that relationship. If we confess those sins it is like a healing balm was rubbed on our relationship with Jesus. There is nothing hidden, even though Jesus knows everything, when we confess our sins. There is nothing that is between us. To overcome temptation Paul had this advice Philip. 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy--meditate on these things. When temptation comes to us we need to learn not to dwell on what is tempting but rather on things that are righteous. EdB |
