1 | Peace with Cancer | Phil 4:7 | j5962cjs | 87947
A believer has just been told by the Dr that Cancer is present in his body. The scripture in Jn 2: 14 states that He (Jesus) is our peace. In Jn 14:27 He (Jesus speaking) says Peace I leave with you.... QUESTION: How to walk in peace?

I've never battled the horrific disease of cancer, but I, as all other Christians do (at one time or another), suffer from infirmities that threaten to shake my faith in God. Though I may not see the outward manifestation of my healing; I believe that the Lord is able to heal me and I will never stop believing that. He may not be willing to heal me, according to my timetable, but He is the Great Physician, so I chose to stand on His word. "Though He slay me, I will hope in Him." Job 13:15 His plans are "to prosper me and not to harm me, to give me a future and a hope." And, if I die in the torment of my affliction, I will also die in faith believing that He wanted to heal me. Jesus is the same, yesterday, today and forever: Matt 9:22 But Jesus turning and seeing her said, "Daughter, take courage; your faith has made you well." At once the woman was made well. Mark 5:34 And He said to her, "Daughter, your faith has made you well; go in peace and be healed of your affliction." Mark 10:52 And Jesus said to him, "Go; your faith has made you well." Immediately he regained his sight and began following Him on the road. Luke 7:50 And He said to the woman, "Your faith has saved you; go in peace." Luke 8:48 And He said to her, "Daughter, your faith has made you well; go in peace." Luke 17:19 And He said to him, "Stand up and go; your faith has made you well." Luke 18:42 And Jesus said to him, "Receive your sight; your faith has made you well." Peace! prazn |

prazn: Dealing with a chronic illness, is so much different than a some "infirmities". Chronic long term on going illness is some that lasts you whole life. Some time like in Pauls case he suffered the rest of his life. I believe that long term chronic illness is especially hard on the suffer's family. I am sure that every time someone askes hou the ill person is doing the supportive family grows weary of saying over and over aabout the same. I add that few churches able to minister to the person or the family of a chronic ill person and their family as this takes an enormus effort in being supportive. This situation is in reality long term hospice. This person and family drain emotional and spiritual energy form the church. Quite often chronicly ill people are depressed and not easy to minister to. The family too suffer every bit as much as the ill one. I wanted to give you some added insight that might not of otherwise have been brought up. I wonder if you have any additional thoughts or comments. justme |

What is the harm in believing that the Lord is able to heal and is willing to heal? I don't understand how a child of God could ever lose hope in Jesus. There is a girl in my church who received a "bad" report from her doctor (i.e., cancer). She doesn't even look 30 years old, yet. She immediately went to the Lord, in prayer, and asked for His diagnosis. He told her that she would be o.k. So, rejecting her first doctor's report, she sought a second opinion. The second doctor could find no trace of cancer in her body. Was the first diagnosis wrong? Or, was she miraculously healed by the time that she went to the second doctor? God only knows! We must keep our "eyes" on Jesus. And, unless He tells us that He is not willing to heal us (as He did with the apostle Paul) continue to fight the "good fight of faith" and believe that He will heal us. "Nothing shall be impossible for him who believes." God bless you! prazn |

prazn: I am concerned that "healing" has been so distorted by the Word of Faith movement, that many are asking for healings out of selfish and dangerious motives. We live in a world of instant everything. "I want it now" is the physical and spiritual demand of many Christians. What right to we have to not expect suffering? If the Lord does heal fine if not then as Paul said to be absent from the body is to be with the Lord. Which do you see as better? I see Christians pray and expect an answer right now! What about persistance, and letting the Lord accomplish His will. The Lord is not a sugar daddy that doels out answers based on our demands. Yes, nothing is impossible for him who believes" but it goes only as far as we are in His direct will. Would you not agree? I have never heard of one single "healing" by these WOF fake healers, being able to be proved by any medical team. I have never heard of amy one going into a cancer word and start healing any of these people, have you? I am very opomistic of people being healed with out concrete verifiable evidence. I have heard some say they were healed of some illness, and to die shortly after. Was their faith not strong enough? This kind of healing has the fir on my neck stand up. For example Benny Hinn is the biggest fake there is! Yet every where he goes ignorant believers who DO NOT know Scriptur fall into this demon indwelt son of the devil Benny Hinn. Why? He is one of many who appeal to "instantly got to have it now" ignorant Christians. I am not saying healing does not happen. I believe in James the last chapter tells us how to go about seeking healing. Then if there is a ture physical healin of the flesh, the healing can beverified by the people who anointed and prayed for the ill person. Your thoughts? Peace. justme |

It was never my intention to imply that our Lord is a "Sugar Daddy". The Lord cannot be manipulated by anyone. However, why not ask the Lord for healing? He may very well be willing to heal. He is certainly "able"! The Lord's will cannot be activated (i.e., manifested) in the earth except by the prayers of the saints. Wouldn't it be a shame to die, needlessly (before our appointed time) because we never exercised our faith in the Lord? Yes, we may be present with the Lord, following your physical death. But, what about the "work" that the Lord may have planned to continue doing in us and through us. The Lord is always growing us in our faith. Why would Jesus tells us that if we had faith to tell a mountain to be removed, that it would be cast into the sea? Why is faith such an important key to living this life on earth? Because we have a very real enemy, who seeks to "steal, kill and destroy". Why roll over for a defeated foe? The Lord does not cause our illnesses; our sins and the devil cause us to experience poor health! And, though He does not cause it, the Lord will use illness to grow our faith in Him!!! Eph 6:10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. Eph 6:11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. Eph 6:12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Eph 6:13 Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm. Eph 6:14 Stand firm therefore, HAVING GIRDED YOUR LOINS WITH TRUTH, and HAVING PUT ON THE BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS, Eph 6:15 and having shod YOUR FEET WITH THE PREPARATION OF THE GOSPEL OF PEACE; Eph 6:16 in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Eph 6:17 And take THE HELMET OF SALVATION, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Eph 6:18 With all prayer and petition pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints, Peace! prazn |
