I would like to know what a bond between friends are? Is it something you feel or something you know?

Hi Protestant, This is a good question. It suggests to me the difference between secular friends and acquaintances and our Christian friends. Certainly the bond between Christian friends can be instantly felt and known. I can determine by a person's conversation and choice of words and particularly lack of coarse words, that here is a person that could be a Christian believer. If I find that he does express to me that he is a believer in Christ, then I have an instant friend. We can not find such "instant" friends in a secular setting. When we meet as persons of faith, we have one purpose and can stand firm in one spirit. Philippians 1:27, "Only conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ; so that whether I come and see you or remain absent, I may hear of you that you are standing firm in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;..." I would suppose that a secular friendship can be of a kindred spirit but I believe also that believers have the fellowship of the Spirit when we are united in spirit. Philippians 2:2, "make my joy complete by being of the same mind, maintaining the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose." From the heart, Ray |

4 | Standing firm in one Spirit/spirit? | Phil 2:1 | Ray | 113496
I want to take this opportunity to thank Justme and all of you for your continued prayers for me during these two years of fighting prostate cancer. I have been able to stay around for as long as I had been given hope for, and even now being in a round of chemo therapy am feeling quite well. Thank you all. God is good. Question: In comparing/contrasting Phil 2:1 and Acts 4:31, would you say that we have lost some of the fellowship of the Spirit? Are we even united in spirit? Scriptures: 1 Cor 6:17; 2 Cor 3:18; 1 Peter 2:18; Phil 1:27; 1 John 3:24; Ephesians 4:5 From the heart, Ray |

Rat:-) God bless you dear brother. If ( and I am sure it is) chemo is worse than radition was for me, you need our prayers. Be assured I will lift you up before the Lord. I pray for you to be in the direct will of the Lord. I prayed this and had great peace in letting the Lord be totally in control. I pray this for you, Ray. Blessings. justme |

Hi justme, One is not dumb when he makes typing errors. I will probably be making more of them in the future because the chemo has affected my fingernails. My only reason for mentioning your mistake was to get the laugh. From the heart, Ray |
