1 | inmorality also if the couple will marry | Eph 5:31 | teragram123 | 63838 | ||
If sex is the "act of marriage" than are you saying that people "marry" a differant mate every time they engage in the sex act? Or those that have sex with an animal is than married? No wonder our nation is in such a mess... the divorce rate among Christians now out ranks that of the unbelievers. If you are a Christian, how can you give such ungodly advise? NO ... the sex act does not constitute a marriage any more than meowing makes me a cat! Marriage is entered by vows between a man and a women before witnesses and before a HOLY God! Sex is the privelege of the married couple. Sex outside of marriage is sin... as the brother justme has said. Acts 15:20 But that we write unto them, that they abstain from pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from things strangled, and from blood. 1 Cor. 5:1 It is reported commonly that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named among the Gentiles, that one should have his father's wife. 1 Cor. 6:13 Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats: but God shall destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body. 1 Cor. 6:18 Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. 1 Cor. 7:2 Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband. 1 Cor. 10:8 Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand. 2 Cor. 12:21 And lest, when I come again, my God will humble me among you, and that I shall bewail many which have sinned already, and have not repented of the uncleanness and fornication and lasciviousness which they have committed. Galatians 5:19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Ephes. 5:3 But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints; Col. 3:5 Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry: 1 Thes. 4:3 For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication: Jude 1:7 Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire. |

teragram123 I have to agree with Borgain on this one. Many people do not understand all the ramifications the act of sex carries. When two people come together both in virginity and have sex they have been bonded physically, emotionally and spiritually and that bond just doesn’t go away. I believe that bond is the same and every bit as strong as one formed in the initial act in the wedding bed. I believe that is how God designed it and I think this is what God intended. This is a problem today many young and for that matter older people do not understand everything that takes place in that initial act of sex. They think they can run from one person to another with impunity, unfortunately for them, it does not work that way. They soon start having problems and can’t seem to figure what is wrong. What is wrong they have bonded themselves to one person and are now outside that bond committing acts of adultery. They are reaping sorrows of adultery. They are outside both man’s law and God’s law and nothing will be quite right. What develops are unhealthy relationships. Soon they have no respect for others or themselves. Their relationship with God if they had one deteriorates. Life loses it meaning. They then start looking for answers in all the wrong places. And the rest of the story is written in our newspaper’s headlines everyday. Sex is a very serious act. It bonds two people together and that bond lasts a life time. EdB |

EdB:You have correctly and clearly stated a point that is often left out the of reasons sexual intercourse outside of marriage. 1 Corinthians 6:16 says we become one with that person. Oneness is far more than sexual gratification. There is oneness of being totally exposed spiritually, and the giving away of your personhood. When united casually, and using sex for recreation, is making your mind believe what everything contrary to what we know is wrong. What is quite clear, this is one area that Christians seen to be willing to skip over as if there is no consequences for their sin. Over and over the writter of Psalms warns to not fall into the arms of sexual sin. Sex is a powerful drawing, so powerful Pastors that have been strong faithfull men, have fallen, and ruined their family, church, and their future, for a few passing moments of sinful pleasure. I believe men counseling women, and women cunseling men, is wrong! There are some built in dangers, and the protection, for anything that could damage a reputation, must be provided for at all costs. I have known of this happening many times. I never once recall anyone saying "I went into this situation wanting to seduce that person." Most always I have heard "I can't belive it happened to me." By then it is too late. The damage is dome. Sometimes the hurt is so great there is no salvage of anything! That is a too high price for pain that will last a lifetime! There is no such thing as a one night stand. In true actuality it is a lifetime sorrow. What we do sexually needs to be as pleasing to the Lord, Just as any other area of or lives, perhaps even more so. Sex is one area that satan is a tempter that is hard to resist, but God is able to protect us if we but flee such sin. justme |
