1 | Has Anyone Changed His Mind? | Eph 2:8 | Hank | 51251
Has anyone on this forum who initially logged on to it believing that salvation is by grace only through faith only in Jesus Christ only been persuaded to change his mind as a result of anything he has read on these pages about baptism and works being necessary for salvation? --Hank
2 | Has Anyone Changed His Mind? | Eph 2:8 | Signmanbob | 51614
Hi Hank, Speaking for myself, there is nothing that could be said on any forum that could pursuade me to believe such a thing. I think David Hunt put it well in his book "An Urgent Call to a Serious Faith" (copyright 2000, published by Harvest House Publishers) "If Christ's death in our place for our sins and His resurrection were not sufficient to keep us saved, then He has foolishly wasted His time. If we could not live a good enough life to earn salvation, it is certain we cannot live a good enough life to keep it. To make the salvation He procured ultimately dependent upon our faltering works would be the utmost folly." As Christians we "continue in His word" because we love Him. Our love for Jesus Christ compels us to obey Him. "This is love, that we walk according to His commandments." (2John 6) If works could cause us to loose our salvation, we would all be doomed. "O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? I thank God - through Jesus Christ our Lord!" (Romans 7:24-25) In Christ, Signmanbob |

3 | Has Anyone Changed His Mind? | Eph 2:8 | Hank | 51620
Excellent thoughts, Signmanbob, excellent! Keep holding on to the truth. He who alone can save us can keep us. If that were not true, who among us could ever have hope of salvation -- we whose righteousness is as filthy rags to the Holy God. --Hank
4 | Has Anyone Changed His Mind? | Eph 2:8 | Signmanbob | 51639
Bless you, Hank and praise God for the salvation that He has freely given us in Christ Jesus, our Lord. We can now look forward in anticipation to eternal life and eternal fellowship with our loving creator. Love, Signmanbob |
