1 | But can we answer the question? | Eph 2:22 | Aixen7z4 | 118037
There you go. Tell them to go somewhere else. As if this is your forum. As if the church belongs to you. After you run out of words such as "devious" and "contemptible" you may try some other ploys. But I came on here to ask a simple question, and I am convinced all of this is simply a distraction. You are avoiding a discussion of a substantive subject. Now I must leave for church. That might give someone the opportunity to wonder why I go to church on Saturday or start to beat up on those who do. Would it help if I said I was not an Adventist? It won't matter. You will find something negative to say anyway. But my only regret is you will not rise to the higher level and answer the question. I think that after all of this you will feel right about saying something good. There you go. Tell them to go somewhere else. As if this is your forum. As if the church belongs to you. After you run out of words such as "devious" and "contemptible" you may try some other ploys. But I came on here to ask a simple question, and I am convinced all of this is simply a distraction. That might give someone the opportunity to wonder why I go to church on Saturday or start to beat up on those who do. Would it help if I said I was not an Adventist? It won't matter. You will find something negative to say anyway. But my only regret is you will not rise to the higher level and answer the question. Yes, I am the one who caused it. Because I did not know how to define "the church". I had no idea that the Bible scholars on this forum would not know what the definite article “the” stands for, and I thought there was only one church. But the Bible scholars here thought I might be talking about the church up the street, that everyone on this worldwide forum might know about. Amazing. No. There is another spirit here, that is oppositional ,and focused on deflecting us from any practical application of the truth. Whom resist, steadfast in the faith. Well, God knows that I tried. All I was looking for was some Biblical statements about how wonderful a thing the church is, and we get this. Do we have anything positive to say? Can we get off Aixen’s case, move up higher, and talk positive about the church? It will take some effort. How can we say anything positive after this? There are some positive things from the Bible about the church. Maybe when I get back I will find some. |

2 | But can we answer the question? | Eph 2:22 | EdB | 118046
Noble I didn't tell you to go any where. I simply stated the fact this is a Bible Study forum not a “what if” forum. I suggested that if you wanted to delve into “what if” types of question there were other forums better suited to that purpose. I also invited you to ask your questions if they were legitimate Bible study type questions. That is not chasing you anywhere that is simply asking you to respect the function and purpose of this forum. Something you seem to have a real problem with. Interestingly most of your posts would better be suited to Christian interactive section of this Lockman site. For one reason or another you refuse to take advantage of that section and insist on posting your ambiguous, and philosophical questions here. Can’t you understand? Let me give you an example let us say we have a forum dedicated to Corvette car racing. People talk about engines, brakes, springs, shocks, handling characteristics, modifying the car to handle better, accelerate, brake and etc. Then a guy comes along and wants to talk about standing on the winners platform. People keep asking him to stay with the subject Corvettes and racing them. But he keeps coming up with questions like what do you think of the pits, or the trophy. Or how did winning yesterday effect your family. The Corvette racing forum tells him there is a racing mindset forum at another section on the same site that would be better suited for his type of questions but he ignores them and keeps posting. When they ask him to stop he become a martyr and acts abused. He even attacks them for asking such a thing saying surely you know winning is part of racing or the conditions of the pits are important. They are but the forum was created to talk about one thing and one thing only racing Corvettes. So it is with this site it created for Bible Study not studying how we feel in good worship, not studying how we are going to feel in heaven, not how we feel after we forgive our brother, but one thing Bible study. I visited other forums that delve into the “what ifs” type ideas and while they are some peoples cup of tea they aren’t mind. I came to this forum along with many others because it was established to study the Bible. Why is it you want to change this forum into a “what if” or Christian issue or whatever term you want to call it. I suspect the reason is you have learned most other forums are either over ran by cultist or people that would speculate on the true worth of a nickel. I imagine your looking for intelligent well thought out answers and your not finding that on some of the other forums. The reason for that is easy when you open the door to speculation that is what you get speculation not informed and concise answers. You keep talking about being asked to leave a church etc. I can imagine it might happen if the pastor got to the pulpit and announced “today we are going to look at the fifth chapter of Luke” and you shouted out “I wanted to discuss how everyone feels about good worship”. Then the pastor replies “okay we can discuss that on Wednesday night” but you insist “if this was truly a loving church you would talk about it right now”. See the problem is not the church or intent of the church the problem is you want to make the church into what you want it to be. That is what your trying to do here. EdB |
