Dear Saints, Greetings and love to all in the name of Jesus! When a person confesses Christ Jesus as Savior, but does not manifest the gifts or fruit of the Holy Spirit, is he (or she) saved? 2 | HS manifestation needed for salvation? | Eph 1:13 | Haggisheid | 27616
Dear Charis, Greetings from Scotland Have another look at the passage, the saints referred to have a conversion experience, they: 1. Heard the word of truth the gospel of salvation 2. They believed it, ie believed the Gospel 3. Having believed they were marked with the sealof the Holy Spirit i.e marked as God's possesion. The seal is a pledge or deposit GUARANTEEING their redemption. In other words they were saved, this pattern has been repeated ever since and is normal conversion. I think the gifts and fruits you mention often come later through the sanctification process, although in special circumstances (like the day of pentecost) God may enable people to use special gifts but only for the edification of the church and his glory not for individuals to "show off". The gifts and work of the the spirit can be a very emotive subject but I hope this has been of some use. May God grant you every blessing in you search for truth and reveal himself to you more and more through his Word. regards Haggisheid Joel 2 27-29 |

4 | HS manifestation needed for salvation? | Eph 1:13 | Haggisheid | 27710
Hi Nolan, I have friends in Gary Indiana. Nice to hear from you. Last week with my Bible Study class for teenagers we were looking at the seal of the Holy Spirit. I used the example of wax seals on letters and official certificates and also cattle brands to illustrate the fact that the seal is for identifying the ownership of the sealed object to others. Also from "sealed" there is the idea that we are kept secure until redemption. The Eph 1:13-14 verses mentions the holy spirit of promise, the promise was given in joel chapter 2. Notice the mention of the pledge or deposit as well, this indicates I think that the seal is a part payment of greater spiritual fullness to come later. By fullness I mean the concept of us yielding more of ourselves to the Spirit and allowing ourselves to be controlled by the Spirit rather than God filling us us as if we are containers. Thanks for replying I hope you have a peaceful christmas. Charis, I was wondering why you were asking the question? What is on your mind? Regards Haggisheid |

5 | HS manifestation needed for salvation? | Eph 1:13 | Morant61 | 27715
Greetings Haggisheid! Just to add some info for your teens. In Eph. 1:14, the Holy Spirit is called our "deposit" or "arrhabon" in Greek. That Greek word is used in modern Greek to refer to an engagement ring! Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
